Wednesday 7am 1x30 UT2 7319m 2.02.9 19spm

6 hour round trip in the truck (delivering wobbled building materials) to spend the day with the in laws

A lovely couple of hours on the beach including lots of rock lifting and moving.

Was thinking i would do another 30 UT2 on return but way too knackered and late when we made it home.

I think My motivation slump has a few factors

I have rowed almost everyday for the last 13months

I have a nice collection of aches and pains (does a hypochondriac think they are a hypochondriac?)

I have gone from being a gentleman of leisure to being booked into June very quickly.

I have achieved what I set out to do (smash BOAR)

ERG was hanging over me like a miasma, I left it as late as I could 4x500 last time I did 2mr 1.36.4 average I did not fancy trying to better that so cut the rest to 1m and aimed for 2k dream pace(1.39) @24spm

All things considered very happy with that, it did not take long to realise I would have to up the SR from 24 to maintain the pace I wanted. I was pleased I chose to wear the HR monitor and create a nice HR pattern.

I can see why a few of those would lower motivation, mine varies dependent on if I've just done a session or am just about to do one! Nice set of 500's with a very impressive HR Grin

I might have to try the 1 min rests sometime on the 500s, but I’m a bit scared about it.

JLL, the 1MR was not as bad as I feared. Just getting ready to row and the boy decided he wanted to "wrestle" I should point out he has never watched any WWE or any other style of wrestling so I have to expect a full on attack no holds barred, at least he doesn't bite anymoreGrin

Rep 1 first minute my legs were heavy and I was doubting there would be a 2nd rep , I kept cajoling myself onto the erg thinking I could stop after 4 reps that would be respectable right? the last 3 rest periods were around 7minutes and I needed every second.
Did I enjoy it? No
Am i glad I got it done? Yes
Will it help on my quest for 6.36? I bloody hope so.

Fantastic session! You got the 7 x 4 TR done once and for all. Surely nothing can stop you now... apart from the 8 x 4 TR, maybe? Grin

It’s usually the case with kids - they choose to do stuff at the most inappropriate times.

Nice bench too. Why is it all long-legged work? You know you can’t growth them, right?

What were you invigilating? Tell us more...

I used to get bad back pain when benching, but I now put on my lever belt fairly tightly and don't get any pain. It perhaps limits my arch a tiny bit (although my arch is terrible anyway), but it at least lets me drive my feet into the ground.

JLL, I invigilate at a High school about a mile away (where i got the rowers from) its a nice 20minute stroll in the sunshine or an angry 20 minute traffic jam at peak time. It was a pre-OZ idea of "retirement jobs" I might do over there rather than just turn up and say "GIZ A JOB I COULD DO THAT" actually getting some experience here would help. I also quite fancy a job in one of the big air conditioned gyms.
