I can see how cake and the C2 don't go well together, I'm surprised you managed 30 min UT1 Grin

My wife thinks I have long covid, I think it is cake poisoning.
I wasn't feeling it today the warm up was tough I had lots of negativity, supposed to be 6x4TR last time I did 5x4 i started too fast so had planned to get them all in the 1.41's this time HA!

Sat on the seat for 5 minutes deciding what to do

10mins 2206m 19 116.

I feel a bit like a week off might make or break me. Will see how I feel tomorrow.

I had a similar session jt, these 'hard' weeks really take it out of me. Steady couple / few days might sort you out.

No doubt deadlifting will add to the general fatigue but surely should not impact my lungs (mental thing?) or my HR much?
A bit of block paving today my back did not like it much but gave me time to plot todays row 6x4 sub 1.45 theoretically easy and a little redemption. Last time I did 5x4 average was 1.41.7.

11x4mins

923m 2.10.0 19 112
986m 2.01.7 20 123
1067m 1.52.2 23 138

1145m 1.44.8 25 154
1144m 1.44.8 26 159
1147m 1.44.6 27 161
1150m 1.44.3 28 163
1153m 1.44.0 28 163
1216m 1.38.6 35 171

910m 22 124
875m 16 122

Even though the first 5 were slower than the 1.41.7 I did 3 weeks back the HR's were all very similar. The 6th set I decided to give it MAX YAM expecting 1.42ish had my eyes closed for most of it. Before that rep I was thinking of going back to week 1 and starting a fresh now i think it might stick it out 2 more weeks and see where that takes me. With 7x4 and 8x4 coming up I thought it important to revisit the 6x4 for future mental fortitude as usual once past half way it seemed less daunting.

Nice last set - you were clearly sandbagging it before that.

No, seriously, that's a solid session and mighty-fine work.

Not far off pb pace for the last one, great row.

I guess you know but over training can elevate HR, with some of the sessions in this program it's no wonder a few 'off' days hit us.

Thanks guys.

Todays ERG 2x15UT1 I really need to remember a warm up even if only 4 minutes.

4057m 1.50.9 23 147

3949m 1.53.9 23 153

HR maxed quickly on 2nd rep which is return to the beginning of the programme when my fitness was low. I had read about keeping DF low on sprints so you can get the flywheel spinning quickly so did an experiment.

5x100m

16.4 59spm 124df

16.0 56 144

15.8 57 164

15.7 57 184 this was max drag on Model C

16.1 60 124

From this I deduce the more power you have the higher the drag should be. The last rep was a real chain wanger.

Interesting results. Think I'll be upping the DF on 500m or shorter, when it really seems to be the lack of power that is slowing you down rather than fitness.

A most excellent session jt, you'll handle the 10x45 no problem Grin! It's surprising how quick the higher DF starts to feel a bit much.
