Conditioning -

Yes dear reader you did read that right, I, the fat, lazy, ginger one, did some conditioning work! I must say it did nearly kill, well felt like it did, but I found it quite enjoyable. It is something I will be doing more of as I need to lose the timber to help my lifts and events, also improve stamina so I don't feel gassed towards the end of comps as I have in the past.

Complex A 40kg 4 sets of 5 reps of each movement with 90 sec rest -

Bent over barbell rows
Hang cleans
Front squat + push press hybrid
Jump squat
Good mornings

Was f**ked after these! First round felt good but by the last round even though it was only 40kg it was starting to feel heavy and I had become a dripping, wheezing mess but obviously feeling the need to actually try kill myself I though why not do another complex!

Made up mess around complex 2 sets, 90 sec rest -

Power snatch 40kg 5 reps
Overhead squat 40kg 5 reps
Kettlebell swings 20kg 12 reps
Standing cable crunch 50kg 15 reps

Well my suspicions were confirmed I am seriously unfit! So much so that I will be doing 30 mins cardio and a complex in the mornings then another complex after my sessions to really try speed up the fat loss and getting my conditioning right up. On another note, I've finally managed to remember to make a doctors appointment for my back so hopefully the road to recovery is round the corner Grin

Thanks Faz I found them a more entertaining way of doing some cardio/conditioning work but they were hard in a good way if that makes sense?

Yeah definitely, the Javorek complexes were actually the first thing I ever did in the gym. I didn't know what I was doing, just read about them in a Musclemag and that was all i did for a few weeks lol

I got the complexes I did/will be doing from T-nation, which was suggested by Nails so going to give them a try and see how I get on.

Nice one mate. Bet you didn't realise 40kg could feel like that. You should be pleased with yourself, those complexes are not easy to get through. I bet by round 3 you wanted to quit. Pretty sure my name was mud at some point Grin

Your not wrong there I stuck 40kg on the bar and was seriously doubting that it would be enough but it was another that's for sure! I'm going to follow the 4 week cycle they have on there then up the weight 5kg and go through it again. By the 3rd round I was struggling that's for sure! Even though it was hard it was more enjoyable than running so thank you for that you sadistic bas***d Tongue I'm joking mate cheers for showing me them.

I'm debating doing them twice a day, do you think that would be too much?

Twice a day may be a little much initially but once your accustomed go right ahead. No-one knows how you'll handle it better then you do. Go by your results and how you feel.

Yea I thought as much, i'll stick to after sessions and just walk/run/skip in the mornings for additional cardio.
