Didn't quite get the leg drive timed right on the 150, but once it was off my chest lockout was as easy as ever. Should be more, paused, there, I think.

And that's that. Last session of speed work on Friday, some paused singles on Wednesday, and one more light tickover before Big Saturday.

Monday 10th December, Adlington

Squat 20x5x2, 70x5x2, 115x3z2, 135x2, 155x1, 170x1, 185x1 and a failed second. 205 walkout.

This equals my single PB, though was I think a markedly better squat; should have got the second but didn't time the dig at ALL right. It was pointed out to me that this took me rather too long, and I agree. I'm a c**t.

Deadlift (in pounds) 135x5x2, 225x3, 300x1, 360x1, 410x1, 460x2 PB (roughly 209kg).

This was allegedly going to be a swift single, but I always had the PB double in the back of my mind. It's only a little one, my PB triple is 455.

Cold cold cold.

Nice pulling Rick especially after going all out on squats, should definitely ease any worries about deads feeling a bit tired after squats on 22nd!

I've been liking doing deads after squats, and it definitely helps stave off that uncomfortable perma-pumped low back I used to suffer with. There deffo wasn't a third there though!

Bench first reps PAUSED:
20x20x2 it's cold
70x5 yup
90x3 warming gradually
100x1
110x1
120x1 like an empty bar
130x1 thought I was going to get a press command, forgot to ask for it, still piss easy after 4-5 second pause
140x1 lowered this like a dick, still pressed easily
147.5 paused PB forgot to ask for commands again, pressed not too hard after 3-4 second pause
125x3 all paused, last one flew.

Definitely on for the far side of 150 on the 22nd. 160 would be nice.

Let's have some fun.

Power clean and push press
50x3 ok
60x2 liked these
70x1 going well
80x1 caught it leaning back
85x1 didn't really try to press it, caught easily but still leaning back rather than getting under
92.5 failed in a variety of silly ways until my legs died.

We'll have, on Sunday, a squat of about 130x5 and bench up to maybe 120 for a fast single, then nothing until the 22nd.

Lots of good chat with Pete and Hayden. Later Rob arrived. I let him live.
