The world famous projectile vomit master Member 1293, 443 posts SQ 210, BP 155, DL 280645.0 kgs @ 105kgs UnEq | so... had my pec tendon put back onto my humerus on monday... process is... they put little pins into the bone of your upper arm as an anchor point.... find the end of the tendon (which was chillin in my outer pec region giving me a saggy tit) put sutures in that then pull it back across and attach it to the pins... tendon then knits back onto the bone...... standard prognosis for this injury is: 6 weeks in a sling, two of which no movement at all after 2 weeks, some limited range passive stretching until 6 weeks then sling can come off.... full recovery 6-9 months.. rubbish... had to get my arm out of the sling the next day (just to straighten my elbow) feels ok out of sling just lying down.. upper arm still tucked into my side.. could see and feel as soon as i had woken from the op that pec shape was kinda back to normal.. some pain for first two days... but thursday onwards haven't felt the need for painkillers... which i put down to my aggresive supplementation protocol: wob enzyme: 10 of these 3 x day on empty stomach: this a formula of several digestive enzymes which if taken on an empty stomach was as an anti-inflammatory in harmony with your bodies natural inflammatory process.. 15grams of fish oil with each meal: agai natural anti-inflamm that i usually have anyway 1000 mg vit c 3x day: away from food 400ius vit e 3 x day with food 5000 ius vit d3 3 x day with food multivit 1x day ( solgar vm-75) v. high dose multi poliquin "uber curcumin" : turmeric based supp again anti inflam : 2pills 4x day poliquin "sinew plex" : contains berberine and "thiaa" helps supports MMP-13 production, which is an enzyme important for connective tissue health gotu kola: 1pill 3 x day away from food : herb that speeds skin healing oregano oil extract: 1 pill 2x day: has natural antibiotic properties cissus quadrangularis: 2pills 2 x day: natural herbal painkiller/anti inflamm... shown in research to speed up bone fracture healing by 40% and shown to have anabolic properties (actually says not suitable for ioc tested athletes on bottle) arnica pills: homeopathic: (the stuff shouldn't work scientifically) but somehow does: 2 pills every two hours spirrilina: seaweed/algae kinda product: apparently one of the most nutrient rich foods on the planet/mixed with pineapple juice.. poliquin inflam px : basically a meal replacement: has loads of fibre/ anti inflam nutrients, with no pro-inflam ingriedients/allergens that a lot of food can contain (dairy/wheat) anyway this morning is the best it has felt, doesn't really feel uncomfortable anymore, just a bit tight.. might try some s**tty leg press and one arm stuff next week... been using grip trainer on injured arm with no problems... so hopefully minimise forearm atrophy while in the sling. anyway gonna see surgeon this week, hopefully get bandage off and take a look at stitches.. out

The world famous projectile vomit master Member 1293, 443 posts SQ 210, BP 155, DL 280645.0 kgs @ 105kgs UnEq | ibuprofen good temporarily, but long-term gonna f**k up your stomach, wasn't prescribed diclofenac..... my massive natural anti-inflamm stack did the job awesomely.... anyway so 2.5 weeks post-surgery now, saw the surgeon on tuesday, he said its looking good.. other than that he is pretty vague with rehab info, just says to mobilise it and increase range slowly..... so gonna use my own knowledge and common sense from now on... so sling is supposed to be on for 6 weeks post surgery.... i haven't had it on since the weekend which was just short of two weeks post-surgery... that may sound stupid but at the end of the day i know my own body and it feels fine out of the sling... infact it feels worse in the sling and this week range has improved everyday... my aim according to the surgeon is to be able to get to 90 degrees of flexion by 6 weeks post surgery....... i am already way past that.. almost 135 degrees and in a week or two i can see full flexion range possible. the most pain is actually in my shoulder joint, probably from tight muscles around the injury compensating... feels like my supraspinatus is being impinged.. but even that feels better today... have eased off the anti-inflamms now and now started heating the area which is really helping the movement... also moved onto another supplement called serrapeptase... again similar to wobenzyme as it is a digestive (specifically from a silk worm) which when taken on an empty stomach gets into your system and is supposed to work as a scar tissue scavenger, it breaks it down and your body replaces it with normal tissue (says the literature i've read up on) but generally i'm very pleased so far.. especially with the speed of recovery... i can already drive again, out of the sling (1month early) and my pec now looks normal rather than having one saggy pec... training has been a bit pretend... just lost motivation a bit.. tried some 1 arm deadlift at the weekend.. got up to about 100k... tough on grip... felt like i was twisting a lot though.. then some s**tty 1 arm pressing and some 1 arm guns work and a few sets of leg press.. pretty light... anyway will prob post another update in a week... 1 arm session hey jt?? what you got in mind for me??

Sounds like you've got a good recovery plan sorted mate. When i broke my thumb there was plenty of one armed fun to be had at the container! Mainly based around DB press, but also some drags etc. Why don't you try some rolling thunder lifts what with your fryingpan hands

The world famous projectile vomit master Member 1293, 443 posts SQ 210, BP 155, DL 280645.0 kgs @ 105kgs UnEq | interesting... i'll have to give it a go sometime.... unfortunately don't have a rolling thunder at my gym.... so tomorrow will be three weeks post-op and everyday the pec feels better ... external rotation range and shoulder stiffness has got loads better, and most everyday tasks aren't a problem anymore...... feeling optimistic went to the gym for a bit of a leg workout today.... high reps... nauseating... leg press 100k... 5 x 25 slow deep reps 75 seconds rest between sets 'Orrible.... seated calf press... 4 x 15.. haven't done calves in a while... acid caught up with really quick here lying leg curls 4 x 15... still feelin sick from leg press.... then went home.... first actually proper session since the op... feelin worked which is a nice feeling to have back....

The world famous projectile vomit master Member 1293, 443 posts SQ 210, BP 155, DL 280645.0 kgs @ 105kgs UnEq | 5 weeks post op, shoulder flexion and abduction and abduction at 100% (although a bit tight at the top)... pain in the pec insertion pretty much not there... but seriously painful shoulder joint.. particularly on the supraspinatus.. prob due to tight internal rotators... been doing lots of external rotation to try to balance it out.... last week or so has been slow progress.. but progress none the less... hot water bottle on it helps before stretching... so rehab exercises i have been able to do.... elbow on knee db external rotation (light weight, slight pain in shoulder) standing rope (supinated) and handle (neutral grip) cable external rotation (various angles) cable machine face pulls (rope attachment) kneeling high pulley 1 arm cable row powell raises and other lower trap lifts... and light stiff leg deadlifts.. just hoping the shoulder starts loosening up a bit over the next week or so... hating not training... getting small and fat... bf% up and 10 lbs lighter... rubbish.. but progress is still well ahead of schedule...
