Thanks for that mate, i'll take some boost from that I'll do my damnest rest assured mate!
OK session today, things are moving in the right direction. 5000 cal intake has been pretty solid from day to day, and creatine stack is hopefully kicking in. Bodyweight creeping up slowly, over 114kg morning weight after cable at the mo. Maybe one more kg before comp is realistic?

Nice fun session today at the Adlington Barbell Club.
Deadlifts
All weights were in pounds, so i got confused. Did a triple with something around 170-180kg mark, singe with 200 and then a single with 217. Alan (the coach) told me to fix my position and initial pull, which i did. It feels better, but like with all new things, the strength takes a wee hit to start with. Convinced this new stance will see some new PBs nailed after i get a bit of volume with it.
Squats - raw this time

no probs, though have to say that i wasnt firing properly and made them a bit harder than they should be. Serves me right not doing any raw squatting for a while
Master plan: nail 220 squat before putting on the beautiful suit again.
Power snatch
few x bar
few x bar and an overhead squat
1x50kg - and did an overhead squat by mistake, thought its part of the plan, but actually was a bit of a fool going for it. Felt it in my shoulders! But I am glad now that i did it - never done it properly like this, so well happy with 50kg

1x70 - nailed again just to make sure, not diving under it enough
2x50 - with a quarter overhead squat in the end

Your an allrounder Joni. Powerlifting, strongman and now Olympic lifting. Is there no end to your talents?

nah man, the beauty of strongman is that everything strength will help in the process.
Oly lifting is really good fun and definitely will help some aspects of the strongman, log lift, overhead work, stones, loading events etc.
of course powerlifting will create a great base for it as well, squats and deads are the cornerstones of any strength sport.
Thing is mate, because I will never exel in anything, i may as well be s**t at everything its all good fun in the process as well.

nah man, the beauty of strongman is that everything strength will help in the process.
Oly lifting is really good fun and definitely will help some aspects of the strongman, log lift, overhead work, stones, loading events etc.
of course powerlifting will create a great base for it as well, squats and deads are the cornerstones of any strength sport.

As several people have said, you do the oly lifts astonishingly well for somebody so new to them. I was seriously jealous today.

Could you share the pointers you've been given when you write your training reports?
Maybe some vids?
Reading from your posts and trainings lads make me want to get back at the lemon stuff soon

Exellent Writing down the pointers is a good idea - silly of me for leaving them out!
On snatch wigans tips were to bring in my stance a bit, knees more over the bar and keeping my shoulders over the bar. Also to pull longer. felt immediately better.
he took a video of one of the snatches for me to see, but he probably wont put it online i think. Need to get them filmed some day so i can scrutinise my form actually.
