Feeling excited now I've got a serious comp to aim at. | ||

Split squats, 5s eccentrics/banded pull throughs - 2 supersets. Not what was planned tonight but i fancied some fun. Got positioning wrong on the 330 so had to pull on it twice which made it harder than it should have been, but still got the PB. More deadlifts lined up for Saturday. | ||

Sack toss 12/15/18. Fun session. Highlight was probably sack toss which i just jumped on at the end with no kit because someone else was doing it and I was much better than last month, go team! Got this event again in August so hopefully I'll be fairly decent by then. | ||

Utterly exhausted today and should probably have cancelled the session but I was too excited about playing on my new log. Thought I'd previously hit 150 for 3 on log, but my records suggest I've only ever doubled it so 141 may technically be a PB treble (I've done 140 x 5 so if it is a PB it's very cheap). I'll be taking it very easy for the rest of the week and then prep starts on Sunday. | ||

Split squats, 5s eccentrics/banded pull throughs - 2 supersets. Jefferson deadlifts 100, 60. Thus starts the deload. Kept the deadlifts nice and light and just hit the one set. Pulled about 20 sets on the Jefferson trying to remember how to setup, i did not get there. | ||

Squats, 5s eccentrics 220 x 2 - 5s pause on final rep. Front squats, 5s eccentrics 100, 180 x 2 - 3s pause on final rep. COC 2.0 - various. Wrist curls/reverse wrist curls - 3 supersets. Fun little session tonight. Just playing with a few things before i go in to prep next week. Grip was particularly enjoyable, love that forearm cramp. Rolling my feet was particularly unenjoyable. | ||

Doing a few things differently this prep just to test ideas. Comp result doesn't really matter so seems a good time to try new things. | ||

Step ups/box jump overs - 2 supersets. Much better session tonight, though that final rep on 315 was a killer. Numbers on this programme are based on a very optimistic max so it's going to be a very hard 4 weeks, but if i make it through i should pull something pretty special in August. | ||

Legs are totally ruined after front squats, very much in need of Sundays physio session. Other than that things weren't too bad, lack of legs made presses a bit slow, but technique felt solid by the final set. | ||
