Notes

I called it there. I wanted 240kg x 10 but it just didn’t feel like it was there. I probably had 7 or maybe 8 at a push but the 10 wasn’t there. Not all bad though. Adductor is not 100% still and hadn’t been since February but doesn’t affect deadlift too much. I’ve also gone from 108kg to 100.6kg in the last month as I’ve loosely been trying to get my diet to look a bit more like the vertical diet from Stan Efferding. If I feel recovered i’ll try and deadlift again on Friday although I’m not dead set on it. Hopefully have that better bench session tonight which I left earlier in the week

Benched 160kg 2x2 on Wednesday. Decent session. Haven’t trained since.

On Thursday I had to put my dog down. A 13 year old black lab called Tess. I was 10 years old when we got her. I literally grew up with her. I did my cardio with her everyday. It was so quick. It’s not until something like this happens everything goes into perspective.

I had 2 main things in my life, 2 hobbies. My powerlifting and my dog. I’m a really dedicated powerlifter. I think I can be really good one day. I think about strength all day everyday. I’d often wondered if I’d rather be the greatest powerlifter in the world or have my dog for say another 20 years. I didn’t know the answer. Now I do. Who gives a f**k about what you can lift. Being great at lifting weights so people admire you? I already had a companion that admired me for exactly what I was. My soul will be intertwined with hers forever and I will carry her memories on with me and use them for strength. RIP my little darling. For as long as I live, so will your memory

This was bear knees which must be the first time in years I’ve done a full session like that. I was really trying to squat symmetrically today. I noticed that when my right knee caves in it is because it’s protecting my adductor and not due to weakness. I’ll continue to work on my form going forward. It was excellent today

200mg ibuprofen, 1 codeine. Shoulder got painful by second set on 165. Half the anti inflammatories of the last few weeks though. 165kg x 2 at 99kg body weight today too

Could still feel tendon at the back of the knee. Obviously not helped by deadlifting last night but I’m back on track now so hopefully start getting rid of this injury. Stand slightly closer and depth really good
