Still suffering a little with this IBS but its improving, the lack of food the past day made todays session tougher but got through it ok, hopefully over the worst now...

Reverse Band Bench Press

60kg x 10
80kg x 10
100kg x 5
120kg x 3
140kg x 1
bands on
180kg x 1
200kg x 3
220kg x 2 rep pb
200kg x 3
200kg x 3

Well that all moved very nicely, compared to yesterday it felt like I had some power back at least. pleased with a 220kg x 2 as 230kg is my max, its quickly building up now, I like the feeling of mass overload as I unrack...will make 180kg raw a breeze when I come to go for it. The 200's moved really quickly, very explosive.

Reverse Band Dead Stop Bench

200kg x 1
220kg x 1 PB
222.5kg x 1 PB
200kg x 3
200kg x 3

Decided this week to leave the bands on for my dead stop work and it felt awesome. The feeling of explosion off the pins is awesome, these are really building so much, I massively rate dead stops/starts with or without bands. Pleased with todays efforts.

Cable Side Lateral Raises

15kg x 18 rep pb
15kg x 15
15kg x 10
15kg x 10 volume PB

Blew side delts up really well, feels a much better movement than using dumbbells, makes you stay much stricter too, strength coming up well, delts never looked so big.

Pec Dec

112kg x 12 rep pb
119kg x 7 rep pb
102kg x 12 volume pb

Strength really going up and up...119kg is the entire stack and make sure to keep very strict with a big squeeze at the top. Chest really feels these.

Machine Preacher Curls

70kg x 6 rep pb
60kg x 9 rep pb
40kg x 14
40kg x 12

Again strength up, solid long ROM reps and massive pump and burn.

Straight Bar Pressdowns

25kg x 20
35kg x 15
40kg x 12
45kg x 10

Quick blast on triceps...already very fatigued from the heavy benching but nice to flush some blood in with an iso movement at the end.

And that was that, no great shakes but things coming up and hopefully IBS on the way out now, not had a flare up in ages, don't miss it..

Cheers mate, just getting done what is needed Happy

4th day in a row and time to deadlift again. Switched out reverse band deads as loading enough weight on the bar is getting problematic so running deads against bands for a while. Never done in any anger before and something I've been wanting to try so...

Deadlifts Against Heavy Band - Beltless (Band adds 80kg at the top)

60kg x 5
100kg x 5
140kg x 5
180kg x 2
220kg x 1 pb
230kg x 1 pb
210kg x 3 rep pb
210kg x 3
210kg x 3 volume pb

These are brutal! Hamstrings and middle back are hit the hardest, damn those repppers moved well but they were brutal. I felt a huge pump in entire posterior chain afterwards. Never managed to go over 215kg with straps and belt before so pleased with that today.

Paused Beltless Squats Week 5

60kg x 5
100kg x 5
120kg x 3
147.5kg x 5
147.5kg x 5

Dull, boring but I do them, ironically felt pretty easy, whole set up of squats for me just feels weird though.

Reverse Grip Hammer Lat Pulldowns

100kg x 12 rep pb
110kg x 8 rep pb
120kg x 5 rep and volume pb

Strength massively up on these, 90kg x 12 last week was tough, 10kg up on the 12 repper this week. Lats feeling it.

Arched Back Good Mornings

60kg x 10
100kg x 5
100kg x 5

Won't be doing these again, cramps up forearms, if I do it will be with a SSB to ease the pressure on them.

Leg Extensions

60kg x 10 rep pb
60kg x 8
60kg x 6 volume pb

super setted with

Lying Leg Curls

60kg x 10 rep pb
60kg x 10
70kg x 6 rep and volume pb

This utterly blew my legs up, the new lying ham machine is epic, feels awesome, nice bit of blood flow into the area to finish things off.

And that was that, next session will be Tuesday for another 4 sessions back to back, vids...

Ha you look so happy in that squat video Tongue

Another great session mate. It's interesting to read your comments about the deads against bans. If you say against bands hits your hamstring and mid back hard, where would you say reverse bands hits you? I've never pulled against bands before. How did you measure the tension at the top? Sound like you've found a nice variant for you though, 400kg by year end Grin.

Bloody hate squats lol.

Hard to say tbh mate...pulls against bands feels completely different...I feel sore already whereas reverse bands I get very little soreness despite massive overload. I feel them more just in my upper back I feel. That 230kg I could feel my hams really straining.

I measure the tension by hanging the bar with band in same position until it just touched the ground so it may be a smidge more than 80kg. Also it utterly destroys the grip, hands hurting now too as the bands are constantly trying to pull the bar back down. I think it will as a little something lol.

400kg may take a smidge longer...its a 5 year goal lol. If I can get around 330kg at the end of this training cycle i'll be pretty happy Happy

Good session today...holding a ton of water but that felt good for lifting, bench felt very very strong.

Bench Press Week 6

60kg x 15
80kg x 10
100kg x 5
120kg x 3
140kg x 5
140kg x 5
140kg x 5
150kg x 3
167.5kg x 1

All moved really nicely, don't think I have ever repped more than 3 with 140 tbh so default rep pbs, weight felt like nothing and moved very well. The 150 x 3 was easy again, tapped it at 3 reps. Loaded 167.5kg for a heavy single and it moved easy, I feel I could have tripled that today despite fatigue by that point but left it at an easy single. Everything here was well below any form of max work and was still probably more than I have ever done before, felt easy. The temptation to throw on 175+ was huge but I resisted.

Close Grip Bench Press

155kg x 1 pb
145kg x 2 rep pb
130kg x 5

Weights all up on last week and all silly easy..155kg although a new pb was well below what I can really do, same with the other sets but its progress and i'd rather leave some in the tank for now.

Negative Bench

185kg x 1
185kg x 1
185kg x 1

These felt brilliant, feels light on the unrack and I seriously had to stop myself trying to press back up.

Cable Cross Overs

47.5kg x 12 rep pb
47.5kg x 12
35kg x 20
35kg x 18

Again strength up and everything moving very well, huge pump.

EZ Preacher Curls

50kg x 11 rep pb
50kg x 7
40kg x 12
40kg x 12
drop
30kg x 8

And again strength up, 50kg x 8 was my max, breezed past that today and all with good long ROM, biceps well pumped.

Overhead Rope Extensions

37.5kg x 15 rep pb
40kg x 8 rep pb
25kg x 20
25kg x 17

And once again, everything up...easily. The pump in my arms by this point was huge.

And that was that for today, great session and bodes well for a big pb in the near future. Deads tomorrow, still easy reps due.

One of those sessions today where I really couldn't be bothered, just not interested today, tired and IBS flared up again last night but have the right pills to conquer it now, anyways, today...

Deadlifts - Week 6 - Still beltless

60kg x 5
100kg x 5
140kg x 5
180kg x 3
220kg x 1
245kg x 5
245kg x 5
Paused from here
260kg x 2
280kg x 1 PB

Well I was yawning my way through but decent. The 245's were light and breezy and banged out quickly, form felt good and felt explosive enough. Moved to a few paused lifts and 260 x 2 was a joke, literally felt like 180 on the bar. Chucked on 280kg, previous best was last weeks 275kg, it moved easy, had a few more there had I so wished. 290kg is my best paused dead, peaked with a belt so we have improvement. I locked it in nicely and lats felt activated well. All building nicely, comsidering it was a couldn't be arsed session these were alright...loads left in the tank despite pb's.

Power Rows - Beltless

172.5kg x 6
180kg x 3 rep pb

Moved well, getting a ton of explosion in, such a useful movement.

Close Grip Pulldowns

70kg x 12
80kg x 12
90kg x 8

Slow, methodical reps with a big stretch and deep contraction every rep, lats feeling sore straight away.

Hammer Grip Chest Supported Rows

60kg x 8
55kg x 8
40kg x 15

Tough movement, again kept them very strict with a big stretch, burned lats very very well.

Dumbbell Shrugs

50kg x 10
50kg x 10
50kg x 10

Paused for a few seconds at the top for a hard contraction, really felt them by the end despite light weight.

Reverse Pec Dec

77kg x 12 pb
63kg x 18
63kg x 15
63kg x 13

Rear delts burned so bad..it still hurts now, never found a movement that isolates rear delts so well, painful but effective.

Done, reverse band benching and accessory work tomorrow, vids...

Couple of crackers there mate, deads insane or business as usual for you. Bench though now that's looking good. You're pretty much at 170 for a daily max, bonkers.
