Seen a grass snake, plus a couple if dead ones. Misses say a small grass snake at near Lepe beach in Hampshire in April-may. It was doing its best to get into cover at the childrens play park. Annoyed I missed it Tbh.

I briefly had a pet grass snake when i was about 8. I now know that it's not allowed to keep wild animals. I caught him by a pond and took him Home in a bucket. Somehow my Dad didn't know any better. The snake crawled out of the bucket and went between a gap between the washing machine and a cupboard. We (not me, I was 8) had to use an angle grinder to cut the front off the cupboard to get him out.

Several adders in my teens when I used to go fishing. I was freaked out web I saw one swimming across a lake.

Great thread by the way Wayne.

How do you feel about the new snake discovery?

I would prefer it to be something totally different rather than a grass snake variant.

Bet that snake could never cope with a British winter like our "wimpy" ones can! Tongue

Held a grass snake and snow constrictor for 20p when I was about 8 years old at a school fete.

Found another giant whip snake the other day in Cyprus. I had a big stick. I was running around in 40 degree heat chasing a snake like a weirdo. Nobody was.

Also seen a fair few blunt-nosed vipers.

Today at work the lads found a slow worm. One picked it up and it savagely attacked him.

He claimed to have been bitten but showed no bite marks. Which begs the question... so slow worms have teeth?
And should i fire said worker and hire one whos less of a pussy?

I didn't think they have teeth.

I've encountered many slow worms, but never an aggressive one.
