Hall has no argument to think he will win WSM

he can't even beat Shaw at Arnold where brute strength is considered as a great factor

talking big when u have never won a major international competition

too much crack cocaine

is this not what everyone always accuses Z of? presssuring for events/rules to suit his strengths?

I guess when you're one of the main draws at an event you have some perksHappy He didn't stay top of the game by not using his brain and playing to his strengths.

If I try to explain suits to anyone not into strength sports they think it's cheating bs.

straps, sleeves, belts etc can all be seen as cheating depending upin yoyr view point. The rules are laid out by the event organiser and athletes all compete within those rules.

Well yeah but straps prevent bicep tears and help make it a back event and not grip, sleeves can help with elbow pains and a belt gives you something to push against to tighten your core, preventing injury. A suit doesn't help prevent injury at all and nor does tacky. The only reason for these is to put more weight on a bar and lift bigger stones.

But why would anyone choose to not take full advantage of anything that will help them win?
Like shaws "squats" everyone slated him, he was being f**king smart. he could get more reps and still comply to rules by basically doing good mornings.
I get what shaw was saying but pulling raw, hitchless, strapless 450 would be a thing of beauty but it wont beat the eddie or who ever in a triple ply straped up hitched to f**k 460+.
Its all bout winning.

I think a few people would disagree about tacky not preventing injury tbh.

Those are guys who don't do a lot of training without tacky so when the tacky runs out in a comp or its hot day and doesn't work etc they tear a bicep and blame it on the tacky not working so therefor it's dangerous without tacky. In reality it's because they didn't train enough without tacky that caused the injury. If you build up slowly the right way no tacky and don't do anything stupid (always warm up well etc) you won't tear a bicep, your tendons will be way too strong. I've lifted carpets most days of the week with no tacky in work for 12 years with exactly the same grip as stones and they are often larger and harder to grip, never torn a bicep.

Loal @ carpet mention.

Ah. Yeah, if there was never going to be tacky available then they'd all train without it and strengthen their tendons. Good call.

What job do you do that entails lifting carpets every day?

have you consulted the health and saftey executive? tacky could become mandatory ppe.

You can say exactly the same thing about deadlifting without straps.

Build up slowly and use correct technique and your bicep tendons will be just fine.

Other than grip and risk of injury, do straps benefit deadlifts? Can you lift more?

I haven't wore straps.
Avatarsamue1son
man. f**k belts, straps, sleeves, suits. All of it. For true raw strength I hate anything except for full raw... but.., this is strongman and I don't wanna see people dying after one event so suit up and lift up.

Can they just not use a forklift?

Hall would still win without one.
