I'd probably also want to do a little lateral work with light dumbbells, but really focusing on the GH joint moving correctly rather than letting traps and a shrugging motion take over.

I read some stuff about isometric strength and shoulder laxity, can't remember what or where. Useful innit!

Makes sense. Lateral raises make my shoulder "ache" if I let the traps take over.

Do them errday?

Probably not every day, but several times a week. 4 or 5 to start maybe?

is that rotator cuff movements or lat raises? rotator cuff movements band external rotations?

I have no real problem with scapula stuff, that are is strong. Its very shoulder specific if you know what I mean.

I'd look to do the full range of stuff 4 or 5 times a week.

Internal rotations are equally important as external for the purpose of improving stability, and my preference is to do them with a vertical humerus rather than horizontal as a lot of people struggle with impingement or positioning with an abducted humerus combined with the technical demands of rotation (although this will vary with individual demands).

I also like to use cables over bands where possible so force requirement is consistent throughout the range.

Another early session, all done in 40 minutes, and feeling absolutely rotten with cold (bloody freshers), so very pleased. Did minimal build up work on the strength lifts to ensure I didn't overdo it while feeling ill, and with an eye on the time.

Still adjusting well to this full daily training, rarely sore now Happy

Well, despite today's VG lifting less than Smalls, I hit a lifetime PB of 95kg hang snatch. Still feeling pretty grotty so really really happy, and some decent heavy strength lifts after. i've easrned a pizza tonight Grin

Cheers James, really doesn't feel like hard graft though, which I'm taking as a good sign!

Well, quite the session! Following my 95kg hang snatch last week I had set my sights on nailing 100kg from the floor in about 2 weeks time. However due to sufficient banter from some of the lads I ended up going for it today. Agonisingly close 3 times! They were all good, just accuracy was a smidge out, but importantly they didn't feel heavy, and I wasn't daunted by it. This will go, and then some more. I've neve been happier with 3 missed lifts! Confidence sky high!

Then squatted my 5RM for a hard but submax 5, and pressed what I think is a post surgery 5 rep PB.

f**king marvellous this lifting lark ain't it Grin

Great session, nice and heavy. 130kg misses were both caught a little forward and ditched, but just like Monday's snatches, they felt light and have boosted my confidence. Incidentally the 120kg jerk was a peach, best heavy jerk I've done, sharp as a razor.

Followed up with a new 5rm squat and bench max. lovely.
