Cheers Bill!

According to the start list I'll be last. Both in my category and several under me haha, so no pressure Grin

BWL Central Open

I had a well thought out and executed build up week to this. Bag was thoroughly checked and packed for all eventualities, including extra food in case it over ran... Roll-Eyes

Weighed in at 103.1kg

I had two lifters to handle before I lifted so wasn't worried too much about my lifting until an hour or so before, and they did really well. Bilal hitting some great lifts in his first ever competition, and Joe qualifying for the English, well done chaps!

I met Dave Rogerson, and thanks must go to him for helping with my timing in the warm up area and counting lifts.

Snatch
40kg x 5 or 6 singles
50kg 2 x 1
60kg 2 x 1
70kg 2 x 1
80kg 2 x 1

1st lift
85kg Smooth and easy

2nd lift
90kg Followed myself, caught it slightly forward which needed a step to stabilise on the recovery, but all good.

3rd lift
95kg No lift, forgot to time my lift around the buzzer and made a bit of a mess of it, lost it forward.

Very pleased, got what I wanted!

Wasn't paying attention to the time / watching the other lifters and realised I had very little time to warm up!

Clean jerk
40kg
60kg
80kg
100kg

Lol!

1st lift
115kg Solid, took my time with the jerk and nailed it.

2nd lift
120kg Felt almost identical to the first lift, great!

3rd lift
125kg No lift, good clean, but lost the stability of the jerk over my right side as my left shoulder wasn't quite set right.

I had a fantastic day, met my target, all went almost exactly according to plan. The last lifts would have been nice but I'm very pleased with 210kg total.

My experience of strength competitions definitely helped me be organised and prepared, which made everything a lot more enjoyable! Having no pressure as I knew I was coming last also helped haha Grin

Looks like the next one will be in January, hopefully looking to add 10kg or more to my total.
