I doubt it'll be too technical on an axle

Did it not feel like it was destroying your shoulders and wrists?

Personally, I don't think lifts like snatches should feel tough. They should be difficult to do, in fact they are infuriating to do sometimes because of the technical aspect of them but not specifically "tough". I equate a tough snatch as being like a muscle snatch which on an axle surely can't be good for the shoulders and wrists? Confused

Still, I will be really interested to see what sorts of weights are shifted and to see if some of the guys simply can't do them because of flexibility issues.

it is tough as the bar doesn't revolve, you litterally have to throw it up and catch it so if you get it wrong it can get quite messy! wrists was the killer!

Judging would need to be consistent regarding press outs.

I'd imagine all pressouts would be allowed, can't see many straight to lockout snatches with an axle by 150kg+ blokes with no olympic lifting background!

Wouldn't have thought Glenn himself would have been to happy if he'd ever had a snatch in a comp!

I snatched my 2" fixed axle last week as it happens, empty at 55kg. Not as easy as it should be!

Going to be interesting whatever happens!

I do it with a 60kg one for warmups sometimes, but I think it would make a super s**t event. Reffing would be a nightmare for consistency, and if guys are struggling to power clean the axle they will be snatching a lot less.

It will be like the s**ttly Arnold clean event but with unimpressive weights. Possibly the worst strongman event of all time imo

I'm really trying to see the positives, but I'm inclined to agree

Why don't we have a bit of an online challenge... see if we can set a benchmark...
