Go ! go ! team strengthshop !!! Member 18, 5295 posts SQ 185, BP 130, DL 230545.0 kgs @ 95kgs UnEq | Post Edited: 02.04.2010 @ 22:38 PM by buzz Right 1st time wa**ers, here's a chance for you to get your feet wet providing you haven't done any strongman comps before. Saturday 3rd April, at the unit, just outside Edinburgh. £15 entry fee. T-shirts, and some other s**t, trophies for top 3. Will take as many f**kers as want to do it (now capped at 30), up to a reasonable amount, want to encourage folk into this game.UPDATE - Because of the demand for this comp (it filled up super fast, and still guys wanting to do it) we're increasing the cap to 30 folk. Anyone else interested, get in touch asap and get your name down. Because of the fact that there will be so many competitors, we've had to change the events, and now all will run head to head (deadlift probably 3 at a time). The entrance fee will be £15, but there will be t-shirts and trophies/medals for all competitors. It'll be a long day, so everyone will have to be patient, but we'll have plenty folk running this and helping out, so we'll strive to make it run as smoothly and quickly as possible. It'll all be inside as well, and be heated at least to an extent, so will be more comfortable for spectators and competitors alike. We're also running a novice comp the last week in Feb, so if anyone prefers to do that, please let me know. Obviously if you do the novice, you won't be eligible for the first timers. Details on the novice comp will be posted up imminently. Date remains the same, and events will be as follows; Order of events changed to; Event 1 - Axle press for reps (floor to overhead - standard sized plates) 80kg - 75secs - head to head Event 2 - Farmers holds - 120kg for time. Will be high pick up, so it's purely a grip event. Head to head - Competitors will be facing each other. Event 3 - Loading - 85kg stone, 100kg stone, 100kg keg, 120kg keg - to approx 50" Short break, like 15mins or so just to give folk a chance to get cleaned up etc. Event 4 - Deadlift for reps 200kg - standard oly bar, 75secs, straps allowed head to head Event 5 - Medley - 220kg yoke 15m, 160kg duck walk 15m. - Head to head. Any questions, comments etc please let me know. Will take as many f**kers as want to do it, up to a reasonable amount, want to encourage folk into this game. Events 1 - Log press for reps - 80kg - 75secs - usual rules - floor to overhead, wait for down signal etc. 2 - deadlift medley - 160 axle (as in thick axle bar, standard plates/height), 180 standard bar standard height, 200 15" deadlift, 220 frame pick up (or 110 farmers) - no straps, no suits, 75secs - might seem on the lightish side, but there will be a fair range of folk doing it, and want everyone to at least get one or two. If some beasts do it fast then so be it. 3 - flip and drag - 280 tyre 5 flips then sled drag 20m - 90 secs. sled weight to be determined 4 - deadlift frame hold - hopefully with a car, but will be high pick up. to be tested and confirmed. pick it up, hold it for as long as possible. 5 - stones over yoke - 85, 100, 117. 1 point for the 85, 2 for the 100, 3 for the 117, and bonus point for doing them in order. Height of bar around 54". That's it I think. Anyone interested let me know, I'll put your name down. Any questions, just ask. Competitors 1.Duncan 2.Youngy 3.Marc mcaloon 4.Robert Murray 5.Nicky 6.Alan 7.Gauze 8.Stan Brydon | ||
