Will be interesting/gruesome to watch Bidens Military Deployment effects. https://www.nationsonline.org/oneworld/map/syria-map.htm Biden is on the top right yellow part, Hasakeh province, which is controlled by Kurdish Autonomous Troops. UK, Canada, France too. Turkey are attacking yellow regions. The Kurds have been most successful at killing ISIS (note no black ISIS strongholds in the yellow area.) Assad, Iran and Russia (Red bit) have spent trump's presidency deploying ground to air rocket tanks to fight Israeli and Turkish incursions. They were trying to win Kurdish areas back through diplomacy and by defending against Turkish bomber planes entering Syrian government air space on route to attack Kurds. More recently Turkey, ISIS and Israel have been none agressive. Turkey has threatened US they will remove NATO American Nuclear Missiles pointed at China and Russia if US provides anti aircraft rocket systems to the Kurds or intervenes to support Kurdish Autonomous expansion into Kurdish areas of Turkey. Turkey ethnicity persecute Turkish Kurds. Turkey have also bought Russian defence systems to the horror of anti russian NATO allies. Saudi may support Black ISIS areas and certainly let them sell oil via the kingdom.

I'm not trying to argue republicans good democrats bad , or that trump was great as he clearly wasn't (he was just different) , my position is republicans bad democrats bad , and that both sides will do more to protect their political donors than they will to help out the ordinary people , and i think this has been shown quite clearly in the last few months. People think that the democrats are a left leaning party but they are not they are a right wing party , and the supposed progressive element within the party (Aoc ,Ilan Omar , Rashida Talib and friends) is a smoke screen to keep voters on board , they Tweet all the right stuff and say the right stuff in interviews but when an opportunity comes to actually try and do something they go missing . (particularly recently with the medicare for all force the vote movement). I think the fact that we are discussing whether or not it was $2000 or $2600 dollars shows what a bunch of grafting c**ts most American politicians are , when you compare that with the kind of financial help most European countries have provided. I agree that it is not democrats good Republicans bad either (apart from Trump, that is). In most times there is not a massive amount to choose between the two - on economics anyway, on abortion rights race etc there is more - but since the coming of Trump the Republican part has sold out to him, a mistake they are going to pay for one way or the other I think. The Democrats main faults seem to be complacency. Trump's base is based on the economically disaffected - sure with a dose of racists on the fringes - and unless Biden can find some way of engaging with them, this could be a tough 4 years in Washington. Although, like you say, there is a significant progressive element within the Democratic party, I don't think there is a smokescreen, I just don't think they have much influence over all. The media attention they receive from both mainstream media and Trump-supporting media, is out of all proportion to the power they have.

I suspect we agree on most things with regard to American politics , i think where we differ is in my view bad as Trump was i dont see Biden and Harris as any better , when judged by what they actually do . I am sure they will speak much more eloquently and be much more careful in what they say , but you can be sure they will look after their political donors an maintain the status quo over and above doing anything for the ordinary American people . As for the progressives in the democrat party i would say the public support for them is genuine but there is a clear example of the 20 or so progressive represesntatives in congress doing nothing when they had an opportunity to and that is when Pelosi came up for reelection as house speaker where she needed every vote to get it and there was an opportunity to gain concessions (such as a floor vote on healthcare) in exchange for their vote and they did absolutely nothing and voted for Pelosi on mass like good little soldiers. I guess we will never agree on this , and will have to amicably disagree. lets see where things are in 4 years

They are owned by one of the investment firms who bailed out another company. This guarantees a return for them and a loss for the margin traders. I think a lot of people borrowed to buy also. Going to be a lot of crying Monday.

The politics of the passing legislation in Congress sounds like it has been victim to massively divided state of US Politics. So Pelosi blocked a bill she might otherwise supported, i read somewhere that McConnell said his greatest achievement of the Obama 2nd term was attempting to block every single piece of legislation Obama tried to pass. If no legislation can be passed in a bi-partisan way, then it makes it difficult for a president to get his legislative agenda accepted. For this, both democrats and republicans are responsible, from the sound of it. Let's face it, in any sensible system, government would not be run by 70-somethings (Trump, Biden, Pelosi, McConnell) who should be put out to grass. As you say, if affordable healthcare is accepted across the board, surely those same voters would not be asking what form this legislation took, but why the previous president spent 4 years criticising it and saying he would repeal it. This is part of Bidens speech when campaigning in Georgia
