Assorted t**ttery today, couldn't be arsed as going on holiday tomorrow Grin

Did include a nice 110kg clean jerk and a 130kg close grip bench though, so not all useless.

Question about slow cooker.

What happens if there is no liquid?

What happens if the contents are not submerged in water?

What happens?

It still cooks.

I often do a whole chicken in it. Rub in seasoning, put it in. Cook Happy

Literally just put it in with a rub? No liquid?

For some reason I thought it would burn and stick to the pan.

Doing pulled pork tonight. Basically I can just steam it then?

HOW DOES IT WORK?

Also I have an issue with chicken in that it disintegrated the bones and they were in bits everywhere (the ends of bones, not the main parts). Too long?

Slow heat, and it keeps most of the vapour in which circulates and cooks. For pulled pork I prefer to cook it in liquid (cherry coke, butter, paprika and garlic)

Yea sounds like the chicken may have been in too long. 4 hours is usually plenty for chicken

I actually had it on for 4 hours, in liquid, on high. First thing I made, I overflowed it actually so nothing happened for a while.

come to thin of it I used to steam a chicken nicely in the oven for about an hour, no liquid, just a lid on a pan.

Good session. Snatches were sharp today. My expectations were low for today's session after 11 days without training, and a week in Spain filled to the brim with unlimited beer, cigarettes and cake, so overall I'm pleased. High bar squats also continue to be pain free, but then they should be with how light they are!

Another good session! Very sore and tight from yesterdays antics, but glad I trained through it today. I seem very motivated to train well since returning from holiday.

The 120kg clean and double jerk was a beauty. Caught the 125kg a bit forward and as a result couldn't recover. Nudged my high bar a bit further forward. All in all, good Happy

Yet another stonking session! Reeaally sore and tight from full sessions Monday and Tuesday, but pushed through it. God knows where the 85kg triple of blocks came from, but they were solid and, for me, fast!

Feeling good Happy

My back was in pieces yesterday and today. Very run down. Powered through again though because I'm a fearless bas***d and a maverick and ended up with a really good session. That makes 4 in 5 days. Keep pushing through and I WILL adapt to weightlifting and squatting every day!

Probably Grin

Squat
60kg x 5
100kg x 5
120kg x 5
140kg x 5

Press
52.5kg x 5

72.5kg x 5
82.5kg x 5

Pull ups
BW x 5
+8kg x 5
+12kg x 5
+16kg x 5

Powered through yet again! Was struggling to even get into position for the snatches and didn't see it going well, so all in all I'm happy with an easy 85kg lift and a narrowly missed behind 90kg. Squats surprised me, and the press is the best strict I've done since surgery I think.

Onwards through the pain! Grin
