I personally prefer the stiffest possible. Member 158, 3110 posts SQ 170, BP 107.5, DL 222.5500.0 kgs @ 67.4kgs UnEq | LOL Iain southampton is on the way, as the quickest route is A31, M27, M3. So for you to come to Bournemouth is crazy.

Awesome squat session, everything seemed to feel easier, 140K for 5 must be nearly there. Low-ish volume Bench session
Pleased with that. Deadlifts (using small diameter plates)
Pretty pleased, nearly back to my early December peak in deadlift.

Member 158, 3110 posts SQ 170, BP 107.5, DL 222.5500.0 kgs @ 67.4kgs UnEq | Post Edited: 25.01.2008 @ 13:12 PM The plan for the qualifier in feb is:squat: 155K (increase by 5K over PB) bench: 92.5K (increase by 2.5K over PB) dead: 210K (increase by 2.5K over PB) total: 457.5K = qualifier This should be do-able and I reckon a 95K bench wouldnt be out of the question, its odd with bench as I usually do much worse than in the gym when in a comp and thats taking into account the pause. kendrick kendleson: yes you shall be going to the comp in a black carriage (ok its actually black golf). As for the finals, there is speculation that Bournemouth uni could be used as the venue. Its a very good venue, the staff are top notch and they equipment is bang on, loads of room too. I did a kendrick kendleson special last night and spooned in some creatine 1h before, straight into my mouth, no drink. Tasted fine but the sensation of dry powder is terrible.

Another great bench session, weights up, a 95K paused single has surely gotta be nearly there

Silver Surfer Member 163, 321 posts SQ 0, BP 95, DL 095.0 kgs @ 80kgs UnEq | Your benching is looking really good Paul and 95kgs looks a banker real soon...other lifts arnt shabby either! You got my attention with the rumour that the nationals are maybe going to Bournemouth University. Bloody hell if that turns out to be more than a rumour it means I travelling to either Bradford or Newquay to qualify for a competition near home. In case you havnt heard there are no South/S/E divisional single lifts comps this year.

Old Age Presser Member 75, 7731 posts SQ 0, BP 200, DL 200400.0 kgs @ 105kgs Eq | If you're doing two sets of four with 90 and can't do an EASY paused 95 it's mental rather than physical! Going back a few years, five with 120 was an indicator of a single with 140 (although I struggled to accept that at the time). Now five with 140 is an indicator of 155 - 160. Two fours with 90 should really translate to 100/102.5 paused. Maybe next session warm up gently to a single with 90, rest a couple of minutes and then go straight to a single with 100. Rest another couple of minutes and then do it paused. It will go up!

I think the BDFPA are involved in an inter-services (police, fire, army etc) comp very soon which is being run at Bournemouth uni, so when they see the venue they may well use decide to use it for the nationals. I know the uni are really up for running PL events. They are very good at it, organised, loads of equipment. Honestly its right up there, its an awesome venue. The police BWLA comp was held at the uni and they even had a physio room setup!!
