Thursday's Session done Saturday at Fitness First due to illness"

Squats
  • 95K x 5
  • 115K x 5
  • 125K x 3
  • 130K x 3
  • 130K x 3
  • 130K x 2

Last set felt hard and I racked it after 2 reps as I didnt think I'd get the 3rd rep.

Deadlifts (using normal diameter plates)
  • 115K x 5
  • 145K x 5
  • 150K x 5
  • 155K x 5
  • 185K x 1

These all felt good.

Overall weights are down about 5-10% but thats to be expected as I have lost nearly 2.5KG in bodyweight due to being ill for most of the week. I am back eating normally now and back loading with creatine.

Bench Session at Purbeck

Bench
  • 60K x 10
  • 70K x 5
  • 80K x 5
  • 82.5K x 5
  • 82.5K x 5
  • 82.5K x 5
  • 80K x 5
  • 70K x 9
  • 60K x 10 (wide)


Purbeck now has a dip station and pullup frame which slots into the squat rack, can't beat these exercises. Did 3 sets of dips (10reps) @ BW and some tricep pushdowns.

Overall pleased with the session, weights were down as expected due to last weeks illness but I am sure they will go back up rapidly.

Thursdays Purbeck Session

Squat
  • 95K x 5
  • 120K x 5
  • 130K x 3
  • 125K x 5
  • 127.5K x 5


Strength is coming back, need to be looking at repping 135 for 5 reps at least really. Still a good session

Bench
  • 60K x 10
  • 75K x 5
  • 80K x 6
  • 80K x 7
  • 80K x 6

Don't normally bench twice in 1 week, however this turned into a really good session. I have high hopes for my bench this year.

Deadlifts (using small diameter plates)
  • 147K x 5
  • 157K x 5
  • 167K x 5 - 5th failed
  • 167K x 1 - 30secs rest from the last set

Again strength is coming back, need another 5KG really at least.

Seems like the secret is to get a dose of the s**ts and go for a pb on the rebound!! Hmm Shall I try it?

All my bench training is touch and go unless stated, so its not really a PB as such, still pleased as 2months ago 95K would have burried me regardless of how I attempted it.

Just joined BDFPA, so may well enter their southern counties divisional on Feb 17th (was speaking to Paul Rees about it last night). I need another 10K on my total to qualify for the drug free British.

I am driving my back and legs much more into the lift and its really helping. I have also narrowed my grip a touch too.

I would like to see 100K competition paused by the end of the year, that would be good I think.

Great I'll see you down there on the 17th? How are you getting down? I am debating either dragging the missed down or it'll have to be a bnb, as although it's not far no trains get me there on time.

Funny the train companies assuming nobody travels before 12 on sundays!!!
