Mr. Abb. Member 239, 581 posts SQ 172.5, BP 100, DL 212.5485.0 kgs @ 74.1kgs UnEq | Cheers, Paul! Cycle 5 - week 2 Thursday MP 20kg x15 40kg x5 50kg x3 60kg x1 70kg x1,1 72.5kg x1 60kg x5,4,4 Strong today even though technique felt like s**t. For some reason my left side seemed to feel like it had a hidden 1.25kg plate extra. Afetr I unracked the 60kg I had to re-rack it again and change the 20kg plate, but it still felt lop sided so I just went ahead with it. Very weird as I gripped the bar evenly, but on the second single with 70kg i took a slightly wider grip and that sorted it out somewhat. Since 70kg felt so good I went for 72.5kg which equals my PB and that one was strong to. Got an extra rep on top of what I got last week on the last set with the 60kg as well. Got that deep fatigue in my arms after the singles, which I believe indicates that my biceps might be flaring up again. Pullups BW x11,11,11 CGBP 40kgx 5 60kg x5 70kg x8,8,8 Veey good session. Even though MP seems to be getting closer to a new PB it won't be BW pressed yet since my BW seems to have climbed well over 76kg now. It's piling on fast now as I've started having an extra 3 pints of full fat milk a day the last week or two, bringing me up to 5-6 pints of full fat milk a day.

Mr. Abb. Member 239, 581 posts SQ 172.5, BP 100, DL 212.5485.0 kgs @ 74.1kgs UnEq | Cycle 5 - Week 2 Deadlift 60kg x10 100kg x6 140kg x3 182.5kg x5 Solid. I think I'll stick with this setup for warmups. Dropping two three warmup sets sure saves some time and i seem just fine with it once I start the top set. SLDL and RDL SLDL 142.5kg x5 RDL 143.5kg x5,5 Thought I would have a feel at the RDL's as I haven't tried them for a long time. Found it harder for the low back/abs compared to the dead stop SLDL from the floor. I'll stick with SLDLs DB bent over row Shrugs 55kg x10,10,10 Ab wheel Knees x10,10,10 Used DB's and these are still not getting any easier. On the last set I lost tightness a bit and felt like the hip tuck was giving but I somehow still managed to stay tight but I felt the obliques kick in big time. That was a first...

Mr. Abb. Member 239, 581 posts SQ 172.5, BP 100, DL 212.5485.0 kgs @ 74.1kgs UnEq | Thanks, guys! I'm feeling stronger in general so i think that 4 month stint with a 5/3/1'ish approach was good for me. I should probably return to it, at least for squats and DL's once I've worked the singles for a couple of months and start stalling again. Cycle 5 - week 3 Monday Bench paused 20kg x20,20 40kg x8 60kg x3 80kg x1 90kg x1 95kg x1 100kg x1,1,1 85kg x5,5,5 Didn't have any spotter today so increased the weights a bit more cautiously. The 100kg singles were hard but solid and with good pauses. Before the session I had thoughts of going to 102.5kg but 100kg was hard enough. Even managed to get a good pause on all the reps in all three sets with 85kg. Good stuff! 1 hour break as I left my "work gym" to drive home and finish off at my local gym. DB Bench ?kg x10 35kg x7,8,8 Picked the wrong DB's as all the DB's are so worn out that you can't read the weight of them any more. Had planned to use 30kg but as I got over 6 reps I figured i'll stick with this weight until I hit 3x10. Went a bit wider today and felt much stronger. Think I've been benching with much to narrow elbows. One arm lever row 45kg x10,10,10 Nice and quick session. I love the break in between, makes the second session feel like nothing and you finish off fresh.

Mr. Abb. Member 239, 581 posts SQ 172.5, BP 100, DL 212.5485.0 kgs @ 74.1kgs UnEq | Cycle 5 - week 3 Squats 20kg x20 60kg x10 100kg x6 140kg x2 175kg x1 180kg x1 PB! 182.5kg x1 PB! 185kg x1 PB! Boooohyaaa!!!! f**king spot on squats today. I've finally realised that taking it slow and steady works much better for me than trying to go down faster in order to use styretch reflex and what not. If I hit the balance right I'm much stronger than if I get a better bounce but don't manage to hit the groove spot on. Best bet for me seems to just sink down slow and take the turn around slow and I'll be fine. There's more there as well so 190kg isn't that far off, probably before X-mas. Holy s**t, didn't expect that. GM's 115kg x5,5,5 Solid, can bump it up another 5kg. Front squats 90kg x5,3+2,5 Tried to point my feet and knees out a bit wider to the sides. Helped to keep my back more upright by avoiding my hips moving back too much. The second set I tried to do hand less fronties with arms straight out but on third rep the bar started rolling just a bit forward on my shoulders so had to rack it and did the last two reps with hands on bar. Ab rollouts Knees x12,12,12 Question now is what weight in the squats should I start next cycle on? Week 1: 175kg 3x1, Week 2: 177.5kg 3x1, Week 3: 180kg 3x1 ??? Or lighter? Or heavier?

Member 239, 581 posts SQ 172.5, BP 100, DL 212.5485.0 kgs @ 74.1kgs UnEq | Cycle 5 - week 3 Friday MP 20kg x20,20 40kg x5 50kg x2 60kg x1 75kg xF 70kg x1 60kg x3 Left shoulder felt tight initially but by the first 60kg single it all felt real good. Had a go at 75kg, but it wouldn't go past my eyes and really didn't do anything good to my shoulder. Shoulder was too painfull and weak so cut the OH's short. Pulldowns #12 x15,15 CGBP 60kg x5 Shoulder too sore for this work as well... ========================= ========================= Sunday Was going to leave DL's all together this week but had an hour free so thought I'ld get the main work done at least. DL 60kg x10 100kg x6 140kg x2 185kg x5 SLDL 145kg x5,5,5 Deload week next week. It's about time it seems as injuries are creeping up on me.

Mr. Abb. Maybe it's just and issue with the OH and squats then? If anything it was my right wrist that got achey as I forgot that the bar that was there is thicker and not so good for my bench and hurts my wrists. Still felt pretty strong and feel I'll probably get a 105kg paused in two weeks time if I push on. Fat man rows BW x20,20,20 Suprisingly strong here as well. I remember when these were a total b**ch and I'm probably 5kg heavier than when I used to do them. DB bench 30kg x12,12,11 Also very strong. Only hurt shoulder a bit as I set up and had to get the DB's up for the first rep. After I got set up proper no pain whatsoever in the shoulder. Oh, and up to 78.5kg now.

Mr. Abb. Member 239, 581 posts SQ 172.5, BP 100, DL 212.5485.0 kgs @ 74.1kgs UnEq | Cycle 6 - week 1 Wednesday FS 20kg x10 60kg x5 100kg x1 110kg x1 120kg x1 130kg x1,1,1 PB! 100kg x5,5,5 PB! The 130kg is a PB by 5kg and they were not even full out. Didn't dare to go heavier though as I didn't have any pins and the floor is wooden and would not take a drop. Every single rep today were solid apart from the second 130kg that I didn't really get all the way in against my throat and topped me forward a bit which forced my arms to work real hard to keep the bar in place. Was very surprised with how easy the 100kg x5's were. 130kg is 70% of my recent Squats PB of 185kg. SLDL Super setted with DB Bench 140kg x5,5,8 DB Bench 26kg x20,15 Very quick session by my standards... roughly 35min. Still nice.

Mr. Abb. Member 239, 581 posts SQ 172.5, BP 100, DL 212.5485.0 kgs @ 74.1kgs UnEq | Thanks, Paul! Cycle 6 - week 1 Sunday DL 60kg x10 100kg x6 140kg x3 180kg x1 200kg x1,1,1 Rack DL, below knee 140kg x5 180kg x5,5,5 These are weird. Are they supposed to be done with a rounded upper back, cause that's the only way I could make them feel natural. If I tried to pull it with an arched back it really got felt in lower back. Thinking about it i guess uit's supposed to mimic the DL from the point where you don't have any leg drive any more and it's just hip/back extension. That wouldfor me mean that my shoulders are quite dropped and slightly rounded upper back. Once I accepted the upper back rounding they felt stronger but not sure what weights I can get up to on this one. Seated one arm lever row 45kg x10,10,10 Face pulls #8 x20,20,20 Think I'll stick to this weeks format for this cycle as I'm not sure what to do on a fourth day if I can't do OH's.

Mr. Abb. Member 239, 581 posts SQ 172.5, BP 100, DL 212.5485.0 kgs @ 74.1kgs UnEq | Thanks, Guys! I guess getting fat works for strength Cycle 6 - Week 2 Monday Bench paused 60kg x5 80kg x3 90kg x1 100kg x1 102.5kg x1 105kg x1 paused PB? 102.5kg x1 80kg x5,5,5 Very strong benching today. I think the 105kg is a paused PB and 107.5kg is the heaviest I've ever managed touch'n'go. It's just so weird but I don't feel the bench at all apart from in my upper back after the set is finished or on the last rep in the sets of 5's. I think my upper back is mega tight at the moment. Chins BW x10,10,10 DB Bench 30kg x12,12,12 Solid session! BW is stayiing solid at just above 80kg and I'm getting worried. Don't want to start cutting food to early though but I'm worried I'll creep up to 82.5kg or more by X-mas. I'm getting close to the fattest I've ever been and I promised myself last year that I wouldn't use this approach again. In the end i guess it doesn't matter as long as I start shedding some body fat right at the beginning of Jan.
