Mr. Abb. Member 239, 581 posts SQ 172.5, BP 100, DL 212.5485.0 kgs @ 74.1kgs UnEq | Cycle 6 - week 2 Thursday FS 20kg x10 60kg x5 80kg x1 100kg x1 120kg x1 130kg x1,1,F 100kg x5,5,5 I got crushed by the bar today. Walked in prepared to have a go at 140kg, but after getting beaten up by 100kg I knew it wasn't going to happen. First 130kg was real ugly as I didn't manage to keep elbows up and ended up lifting the bar with my fingers and my knees folded in and what not. Second 130kg was really nice, but on the third I managed to let a long one rip on the decent and where a true champ's focus wouldn't have budged I just put the bar on the safety pins. The sets of 5's were all good. Main problem today was that I had this idea I had to crush the bar in as far as possible and ended up putting the bar on my collar bones instead of the shoulder groove which is not as throat crushing far in. DB Bench 30kg x12,12,13 Actually still felt quite beaten up after Mondays bench session. BoR 60kg x10 80kg x10,10,10 These felt surprisingly light. Had to try them again since I really just couldn't be arsed to do my SLDL's. Curls 30kg x12,10 Not very inspiring session.

I really have to fight the urge to lift fast and instead just try and lift it slow but strong. Below knee rack DL 180kg x1 200kg x1 220kg x1,3 200kg x4 Whooaa! These are proper upper back beaters, damn! Love 'em! Damn hard on the hands though. Power Shrugs 160kg x5,5,5 140kg x20,20 Hope I can at turn my head at least tomorrow. Walked in feeling s**t and thinking I would strugle with even a single at 180kg. Turned out to be one of my better workouts and felt real strong. Beaten up all over, even my upper arms.

Mr. Abb. Member 239, 581 posts SQ 172.5, BP 100, DL 212.5485.0 kgs @ 74.1kgs UnEq | Cycle 6 week 3 Monday Bench paused 20kg x10 40kg x10 60kg x5 80kg x3 100kg x1 105kg x1,1,1 85kg x5,5,6 Shoulder hurt a bit on the lighter warmups but once I got to 60kg it felt fine. 100kg just flew up so I was confident I would get 105kg well today (no spotter or safety why I needed the 100kg check). The first 105kg flew up so fast I was tempted to add weight for a PB but decided to play concervatively. It's going well so don't want to do too much and break the progress. The 85kg reppers were also strong so need to up the weight on them next cycle. DB Bench 35kg x10,8,8 I'm pretty sure that is a PB. Think 6 is the most I've ever gotten with 35-36kg. Chins BW x11,11 Pullups x9 Preacher DB curls 14kg x5,5 12kg x8,8 10kg x12,12 Lovely pump! Awsome!!!

Mr. Abb. Member 239, 581 posts SQ 172.5, BP 100, DL 212.5485.0 kgs @ 74.1kgs UnEq | Cheers, Paul! Cycle 6 - week 3 Thursday FS 60kg x5 100kg x1 132.5kg x1,1,1 105kgx5,5,5 So, so. Still hit an miss and when it's a miss it's an ugly one where the bar ends up in my hands. Third single was the best, not sure what I did right apart from forgetting to put on my belt. Did the other sets without belt after that as I don't seem to need it at all. Another thing is that I believe I have to really grip the bar with my hands instead of just placing the fingers on the bar during setup. With a proper grip I seem to be be able to keep the elbows up better. SLDL 145kg x6,6,8 DB Bench 30kg x12,12,12 Various rehab... Mr. Abb. Member 239, 581 posts SQ 172.5, BP 100, DL 212.5485.0 kgs @ 74.1kgs UnEq | Cycle 6 - Week 3 Sunday DL 70kg x10 110kg x6 150kg x2 180kg x1 205kg x1,1,1 The 205kg singles were strong but maybe I'm approaching the lift with a too "slow" attitude now. My second single I got a serious blood pressure spike that I literarily saw double afterwards for a couple of seconds. I usually get the sparks/flimmering but I've never actually seen double like this before. Rack DL (in old style Smith) 210kg x1+180kg x4 180kg x2 There's no power rack in the gym where I worked out today so I loaded on 210kg (with the bar) on the "smith machine" as I guess the "rail sliders'' would weigh at least 10kg extra to make a 220+kg bar. It was too heavy though so stripped off to a 180kg bar and did another 4 reps but felt it a lot in teh lower back as I couldn't lock out the bar properly because of the fixed position. On teh second rep in the second set I felt a sharp pain in my right lower abs/groin area, like my skin had been pinched. After checking that my belt or trousers hadn't pinched me I went for a third rep and as I built up the tension and pressure I felt the pain again and this time there was some heat lingering very locally in teh area where I got the pain. Decided to stop as I was aftraid it might be a hernia. No bulging or any pain in the area afterwards, doesn't hurt if I stretch or poke the area or anything. Hopefully just the hip flexors or other muscle complaining which will have healed up in a weeks time. One arm DB OH 12kg x10,10,10 I do these with my hand in a PG position starting right in front of muy shoulder and ending up right above shoulder without any twisting of the arm. It's supposed to help building up teh serratus anteriors and it allows me to do some OH pressing pain free. Scaptions 6kg x10,10,10 Pulley lower trap shrugs 49kg x20,20,20

Mr. Abb. Member 239, 581 posts SQ 172.5, BP 100, DL 212.5485.0 kgs @ 74.1kgs UnEq | Cycle 6 - week 4 deload Tuesday Bench, paused lots of warmups 100kg x1,1 80kg x5,5,5 Felt heavy and I had no pop whatsoever. Had thought that I would charge on with upper body this deload week but think I seriously need a proper rest week or maybe it's just in the head. Doesn't matter, will take proper deloads after all. Pulldowns 56kg x12,12,12 DB Bench 30kg x5,8,8 One arm DB OH 14kg x10,10 Scaptions 6kg x20,20 Did these with both arms at the same time and it works better than one arm at a time. Also tried to get into a back squat position after all the benching work and even though it was quite uncomfortable for my shoulder I could definitely feel it's an improvement and the shoulder is getting better. Either that or a properly warmed up shoulder is a good trick to avoid shoulder pains when squatting.

Mr. Abb. Member 239, 581 posts SQ 172.5, BP 100, DL 212.5485.0 kgs @ 74.1kgs UnEq | Still dry coughing, and my digestive sysytem is still a bit out of whack. I suddenly got so damn hungry after I had my halfpounder cheese burger, today at 5pm after avoiding it for about 5 days, so I had an extra quarter pounder as well. This made me so full and I had such a hard time digesting it all I felt sick all evening until about an hour after I had finished my workout, around 10pm. All I could stomach now though is a bit of youghurt and some raw pepper, spinach and carrot and a bit of milk. Think that will have to do and hope the tummy gets in gear by tomorrow. Cycle 7 - Week 1 Bench paused 20kg x20 40kg x10 60kg x5 80kg x3 90kg x1 100kg x1 102.5kg xF wtf? 85kg x5,5,5 Don't know what happened with the 102.5kg single. Relaxed too much at the bottom and got halfway up and started to slow down and then I just f**king gave up. No spotter/rack or anything, I just thought "i'll take it in the gut and stand up with it". Wasn't a problem, but still... Decided that any heavy singles were not on today. The 85kg's were pretty solid in the end. DB Bench 35kg x6,6,6 meh! Chins BW x8,8,8 Scaptions 6kg x20,20,20

Mr. Abb. Member 239, 581 posts SQ 172.5, BP 100, DL 212.5485.0 kgs @ 74.1kgs UnEq | Cycle 7 - week 1 Sunday DL 70kg x10 110kg x5 150kg x1 190kg x1 210kg x1,1 PB! 190kg x2 Easy PB again. Wasn't up for three singles with 205kg or 207.5kg so decided to just settle for one single with 210kg if I could get it. It was so easy that I went for another one but I've gotten paranoid about getting a hernia now so after the second single it felt like too much of a strain. Was going to try for five with 190kg but after the second rep I felt pinching in my lower abs/groin area that I decided to stop. Right after I was quite confident that is was just some pinching from my belt or trousers and that I'm over reacting. Power Shrugs 150kg x6,6,6

Mr. Abb. Member 239, 581 posts SQ 172.5, BP 100, DL 212.5485.0 kgs @ 74.1kgs UnEq | Cycle 7 - week 2 Tuesday Bench, paused 40kg x10 60kg x5 80kg x1 90kg x1 100kg x1,1,1 87.5kg x5,5,5 Didn't feal strong today either so settled with 100kg singles. Upped the 5's to 87.5kg though and it's just about right weight. Maybe I'll have to just focus on the 5's for a while instead and leve the singles at 100kg until I feel stronger again. DB Bench 37.5kg x6,6,6 I think that is a PB, if not in weight definitely for reps. I'm finding I'm stronger if I take the DB's a bit wider at the bottom, rather than taking them in to the chest which forces my triceps to do most of the work, and seems to allloow the chest to work more. Pullups BW x8,8,10 Forgot to do my rehab work... :
