I’ve never found a way to these that doesn’t hurt the knees. Thought I’d do band assisted, negatives, build up etc. but painful

I use a lat pulldowns machine and hook a band over the top so it’s hanging down, heels under the knee pads, knees on the bench with an ab mat under them for extra cushioning and then hold the band and go forward. I adjust where my hands are on the band for more/less resistance

I need to find a way to do these in my garage.
I do reverse nordics (quad fallouts) with a light band anchored on pull up bar. These are good imo

Do you think a small ROM is still worthwhile?

I imagine full range assisted is better.

What advantage might nordics have over the easier and much more comfortable GHR? I enjoy GHRs

I've always just called these GHR's, it's just there's on machine for comfort and slight easing of the angles involved.
