Tonight's training: The best laid plans of large moobed tash weasels... The plan: Squat & bench, moderate weight,work on technique, low volume so as not to be f**ked for Saturday. Squat: Bar x10 Bar x10 50kg x5 60kg x3 80kg x2 80kg x1 90kg x2 90kg x1 Reasonably fast and not too taxing. Hints about leg drive, placement of feet, angle of elbows etc from him were gratefully received. 70kg x1 x chat about powerlifting, Genesis gym where he normally trains and more helpful hints 80kg x1 90kg x1 The bench ended up being heavier than I planned, but the lack of volume should leave me fine for Saturday. Some tricep push downs of an unknown weight (only because the mighty Telamicus insisted) Leg raises 10 10 10 On the way home, walking past the dodgy half-way house hostel place where there was a nasty stabbing last week, I noticed a large bloke stood in the street wearing a big over coat, trampish jogging bottoms and his hood pulled up right over his face. He was clearly staring at me, so I was avoiding eye contact. As I got near to him, he reached out to touch my shoulder and said "Where are you going?" I quickly glanced at him like he'd just shoved a dog s**t under my nose and kept walking. It wasn't until about 5 minutes later that the slow working facial recognition part of my brain kicked in and I realised it was the nice big benching man. I feel like a right c**t now! | ||

The even more awkward thing is, that he has trouble understanding me because I'm northern and he has a a sort of half London half Chinese accent that I struggle with.
