Thanks, I had no idea there was an FB page. I used to train with John, as I'm at Uni in Brighton, but the box is too far/expensive. May be in London next year though!

Ah, that'd be decent mate. Can get yourself down to Bethnal Green in that case! And you're right, that box is a trek from the main part of Brighton!

Ah, man I'd love to. Will have to see how things work out but it would be amazing. The place seems awesome, was there watching a PL comp once. Would you go there over other places in London? I just have a hard time motivating myself to do WL without proper space/coaching!

I've not been to any other WL clubs in London apart from Crystal Palace. That place is decent as well except it's quite far out and difficult to get to. The social aspect at BG is really good. Like you I don't think I'd do any weightlifting at all if I wasn't at this club. Even for PLing, I trained at a standard commercial gym for a one-off session a while ago and it was just a s**t! Couldn't be arsed lol.

Tried doing regular squats with just the bar but it hurt, so switched to box squats which were fine.

previous hamstring niggle from a couple of years back has been flaring up recently. not too bad atm

Think that was my entire session, easier than yesterday's benching. It's nice doing bench only - I don't wake up feeling like I need a wheelchair. Will do a few curls after benching from now on, elbows showing signs of protest against the volume so want to nip it in the bud.

90 for 10 sets of 3. All comfortable, easiest day I've had so far tbh. Quite short rest periods too.

Power snatch
Hook grip was hurting my thumb today, went to 50x3 but struggled after that so left it.

No real explosive energy left for these after benching.

170 was probably around my limit for clean deads. Unsure whether to jump by 2.5 or 5kg for 2nd week of smolov. Anyone who has done it got any advice?

Although I'm saying no to Smolov after week 1. Shoulders are too stiff, elbows were aching. One round of Smolov JR was enough for me!

lol alright, this better not f**k me over or I'm blaming you! Jesus, doing 100kg for 10 sets of 3 in two weeks time sounds like a monumental task!
