Weighed in at less than 98 today! Usually at this time of day I'm 100-101. Even in the morning I've never been this light. The extra session is helping it appears.

Deads felt rapid despite feeling pretty lethargic. Didn't fully reset between each rep i.e. standing up and composing myself etc and it seemed to work a bit better. Maybe my current setup isn't the most efficient. Will keep experimenting. Stretched a bit too vigorously at end of workout and tweaked elbow slightly. Time to ice.

Programme called for 134 this week. Was going to round the squats up to 135 but since I have access to dem dere weightlifting plates it would be a shame not to utilise them. They were tough but the technique was solid throughout, very happy with them. There was probably only one rep out of the 25 where I got pulled forward and even then it was slight.

Bench wasn't the fastest I've done but still fast enough to be classed as speed IMO. Close grip is getting easier every week.
Hips felt very sore at the end of the session, think it's a combination of the increased volume, the weightlifting and the fact I've been sat at home all day revising.
Exam on Saturday so no chance of weightlifting. May do the session tomorrow depending on energy and revision progress.

Decided to do some weightlifting today. Wasn't part of the scheduled class so it was just me acting clueless.

snatch
Worked up to 55, everything going well and no misses. Put 60 on, had a miss or two with it, no big deal, then on the third attempt smacked myself right in the balls! Had to sit down for a good five minutes. That was me done with snatches then. Zero confidence on subsequent attempts!

Worked up to 85 but missed every single clean somehow (about 4 attempts). Dropped down to 80 and did 6 clean singles.

Meh. Felt pretty drained from yesterday still.

42.5x5 stopped there, elbow tendonitis giving me grief, was affecting form.

Not a bad session, felt like I was just going through the motions a bit though, not really focusing on exploding off the floor. Oh well, got the required reps anyway. Need to get straps sorted for next week. Bought a roll but haven't taped together yet.
Taking me an age to warm up these says, lower body constantly aching - it bands especially, no matter how much stretching and foam rolling I do. Need to target it more somehow to make sure it doesn't develop into something worse.

After the first rep of 90 I found out it was actually supposed to be clean, front squat then jerk lol. So second rep included a front squat in the middle.

Good session. Technique is coming along nicely! Snatch felt a lot better. Moved snatch grip out so I'm pretty much touching the collars now.

I popped in to the BG Weightlifting Club earlier today. The coach said I'll have to sign up in September if I want to get involved. This made me sad Unhappy

That's a bit odd that! It must be because after this 10-week block it's the summer holidays? I'm gonna have to ask him what's going on!

How does it work at the club? I have to enroll on a 10 week course, then after that I can compete/use the gym when I want? Please explain Happy Thanks!

You have to enroll every 10 weeks which is inconvenient! There can be some exceptions though - for example, as I pay for the powerlifting days but wanted to try out weightlifting, Giles has let me pay £45 cash in hand for the 10 weeks on Saturday mornings. Obviously it's up to them how many "arrangements" they have like this as they want as much money going into the club funds as possible (for new bars, plates etc) whilst not completely overcrowding the gym.

Cheers mate, consistency is slowly building, after that shocking session last week where I failed an 85 clean four times haha.
