Feel better about the comp now, cold is pretty much gone and I've slept for about 9 hours each night this weekend . | ||

Member 4145, 1331 posts SQ 172.5, BP 115, DL 220507.5 kgs @ 100.4kgs UnEq | Right, back from today's comp, seriously seriously ****ed right now! GBPF South East Regionals Comp was down in Woking. Got to sleep at around 12, woke up at 7, so I felt fairly rested for once. Got to Woking around 9 to weigh in. I weighed in at 98.5kg. Morning session consisted of the female lifters and the masters lifters, whereas juniors and seniors were in the afternoon. Wasn't until around 3pm that we started lifting and it all finished around 7pm, so bloody long day!! The event itself was well-run, although the warm-up room was pretty tight for space. Anyway, the lifts: Squat Warmed up to 137.5. Opener was originally 142.5 but changed it to 145 last minute. Squat hasn't been going well lately. 145 - Easy 152.5 - Easy 162.5 - Smooth and a new PB! Dead happy with this! Bench Warmed up to 87.5 92.5 - Comfortable. 97.5 - Bit of a grinder this one, almost identical to my first comp. Got it though. Equal PB 100 - FAIL AGAIN! Argh! I felt completely and utterly burned out at this point, legs felt like lead. Much worse than previous comps I've done. Deadlift Warmed up to 170. Not as fast as I'd hoped. 180 - Good lift 192.5 - Smooth but quite tough! 205 - Got it about two inches off the floor. Wasn't going though. Felt DAMN heavy! Summary: squats - very pleased! Bench - ok, as expected. Deadlifts - bad! So total was 452.5. Not bad really considering lack of prep for the comp. I'm happy just cos of the squat tbh. Technique felt really good. Went down with the entire club, we had nine lifters entered so was a really good day out. I took videos of everyone so I'll upload them this week at some point. I got to meet spiderdan himself as well, so that was good! | ||

First time doing them in aaages, my speed under the bar is a LOT better than it used to be. Followed them with some HB squats, nothing heavy as I'm squatting on Monday. Then 3 sets of 10 on 60kg for CGBP. Then three rounds of the bear complex 30kg (tried 40kg but couldn't do it!). Taxing! | ||

Felt strong and fast. Heard that GBPF drug testing is going to be stepped up a notch at regional competitions from now on which is always good to hear! | ||

Short as well so had plenty of time for stretching. Will move abs from Monday to this day to make better use of time. | ||

Focused on keeping shoulders back. speed squats - with medium chains 75x2 75x2 75x2 75x2 75x2 75x2 75x2 75x2 all fast and tight incline DB press - didn't lock out in order to keep tension on the pecs (lol) 22.5x12 25x12 25x12 this method felt a lot better good mornings - belted 70x5 75x5 80x5 85x5 tough Great session. Right pec felt a bit funny throughout the session though. Didn't hinder any sets. | ||
