Member 2775, 6927 posts | Great work from Thor, looked a lot better on that than in training. Shaw didn't give it enough respect, didn't get proper rack / positions for max leg drive other than on one of his reps and didn't bump up the 4th clean when it didn't land high enough on the belly. Think he thought he would just horse it up either way but looked like it was a tough setup.

Savage..your main problem is on sugden, your optimism undermines the person that does the business. 'i would have won if i didn't take those weakening steroids' 'shaw wins easily with his magic shirt' The winner is the winner...no excuses. Never said any of those things and have never even competed on supplements. My opinion was that he most likely would have won the event as he looked by far the strongest to the lap and the way he held it in his arms was crazy. The shirt isn't magic, it's real and makes a big difference, he really dropped the ball not wearing one (hence why every other competitor was wearing one). Obviously Thor did not make that mistake and fully deserved the win either way, awesome performance.

PaulSavage said:Completely depends on who's better at picking weights with 3 attempts again. HATE how they do this, it's not the best way to find the strongest lifter or the highest number. Makes no sense. Last man standing is night and day better any way you look at it.

If Ed competes even just a token contract fulfill..there's your top 3 right there. Overall scores anyone? Where did my little Belsak come?

Guys like Caron and Janashia could well overtake him. Overall places: Shiv 3rd, Kiel 4th, Caron 5th, Belsak 6th.

Especially if his hand is as bad as he says and there is no straps on frame.

I think in years gone he thought he was the best but he seems to have knocked his ego down and really worked hard. Can't see anything but a thor wsm win now

AKA the great reset Member 4056, 5207 posts | Shaw isn't past it, but he has peaked. Thor can still improve. I'm a Shaw man, but Thors the main man now. He's improved do much. Even with the same WSM final events, Ed wouldn't beat him again. Ed said he doesn't want to compete, unless he knows he can win. I doubt Ed can beat Thor now.

Agree it will be close between those 2. I can’t really see Hall challenging Thor at ESM

From what i see hes preparing for log only. No other training stuff being posted. Probably another one event show for him. IMO hes bluffing about the log and will come out with some excuses in the last minute.

It's a moonface era now. Member 5901, 956 posts | Thor would have won major competitions earlier if he was serious as hes now. Great frame he has, very well proportioned unlike Shaw. Shaw has maximized what he has, but his very long limbs are his limiting factor in pressing and deadlift also. You can see his starting position is very awkward and for him pulling big from the floor is very hard. Also Thor has more room to fill his frame with size, another years of serious training like this and we will be watching another level animal. Funny to think that him and Eddie Hall are the same weight.

AKA the great reset Member 4056, 5207 posts | Thor will deadlift 500 and won't near faint when doing it. He isn't as fast as Ed, but he's more powerful.
