Nevertheless, I think Peter Kirkbride also qualifies in the freak of nature category! Peter Kirkbride is by far the best we have - awesome in every way and a top bloke also . . . 200kg C&J around the corner for sure .....

Anyway, who fancies a wager on this?

The amount of times I've been told that someones mate is stronger than me, or the person in question could squat more than what I had on the bar - I've lost count. I could sprint sub ten seconds "in training" but it wouldn't matter a s**t unless I could repeat that on the track. Equally all this s**t being talked here about athletes outlifting seasoned class weightlifters is blatant f**king nonsense. As for an 80kgs 18 year old powercleaning 130kgs - absolute bulls**t again I'm afraid. For once I'm going to agree with Pork Pie

not particularly well educated Member 85, 10991 posts SQ 170, BP 130, DL 260560.0 kgs @ 90kgs UnEq | googled sheridans lift's last night ,reports of his max benchpress vary from 215k to 220kx3,350k for his deadlift and 275k for his squat although there was no mention of to what depth ,but if we're honest ouside of powerlifting no one in the real world gives a f**k about squat depth. whether these are correct or not or just gymn bulls**t,the general concensus seems to be he is one strong f**ker, and if they are his lifts and he can do that and run round a rugby pitch for 80 minutes at 19 stone and 10% body fat what could he do at 24 stone and 20% bodyfat.I would certainly be interested to see! hopefully Martin can recruit him when he's finished playing rugby.

Doesn't look that far off to me to be honest? You have to be in pretty good condition to run around a rugby pitch all game, although there is the odd fat bas***d even at international level.

technical retard Member 172, 36827 posts SQ 310, BP 205, DL 335850.0 kgs @ 108kgs UnEq | that pic is over a year old. Anyhow, Im nit picking a little, but the bloke I saw playing against Australia was not 10% BF Just because your CV system is in good condition, does not mean you have low BF, hence Leonard, Regan, Stevens, Vickery, Jenkins... I could go on

old fat fingers needs to find 10kg Member 192, 640 posts SQ 280, BP 210, DL 245735.0 kgs @ 122.7kgs Eq | Post Edited: 21.11.2008 @ 14:27 PM by cuntos That pic posted by Rob shows a guy of around 15+% bodyfat in my opinion. 10% is pretty f**king lean. Loads of bellends reckon they're about 15% when in fact they are way above 20%. Like the guys who reckon they could do a bodybuilding comp and they just need to lose about half a stone (usually about three and a half stone - lol).

Scotbasher - forever Member 59, 2115 posts | A lot depends upon the method used to check bodyfat percentage, for a given person there will be a wide spread of results across the methods. What most people are concerned about is the repeatability of the method to plot a trend.

Scotbasher - forever Member 59, 2115 posts | Just to add fuel to the fire, One of the lurkers on here spoke to Norman Anderson who is a well respected coach at Gateshead and he asked him how much he'd seen Jonathan Edwards power clean. Immediately he said "150kg, on many occasions." I said Jonathan has been quoted as claiming 155kg, and Norman said, "I don't know about that, maybe he did, but I know I've seen him do 150kg many times. He then called to Dot Shaw, who hadn't heard my original question, and asked her how much she'd seen Jonathan power clean, and Dot said "150kg, quite a few times, when he used to train at Gateshead on Saturday mornings." Norman also told him something he'd seen Jonathan do that he considered much more amazing than that. He said Jonathan could stand with his back to the high jump bar (which was set at about mid-shoulder-blade height) and, from a standing start, jump BACKWARDS over it. Norman said, most people had no conception of the explosiveness of JE; he was in a very special class of athlete.
