nice one on the deads. I find the 4x4 at 70% surprisingly taxing, it's a good way to get the body ready for the heavier doubles!

RM Overhead Press -

After another early start I was not feeling overly energetic today but was looking forward to pressing anyway. I have grown quite fond of this routine and feel that it is definitely helping not only my pressing but my cleaning too. I only had time for a quick session tonight as i'm off to Colchester on a last minute birthday shopping trip, being the ever organised person that I am.

Strict Press -

60kg x 5
70kg x 3
80kg x 2
Push Press
92.5kg x 3f4
92.5kg x 4
92.5kg x 4
92.5kg x 4
92.5kg x 4
92.5kg x 4

Extremely annoyed I missed the 4th rep of the first set! Hands slipped and messed the drive up, was going to do an extra set as punishment but the bicep tendon had had enough of cleaning. Was a collective reps PB so suppose that is something to be happy about.

Barbell Shrugs -

100kg x 10

Tendon said no to gripping the bar so decided this wasn't a good idea.

Seated Smith Machine Overhead Press - No back support

50kg x 5
70kg x 3
80kg x 2
90kg x 1

And that was all I managed in my small time frame but shoulders felt it and as it's my second pressing session of the week was probably a good thing I didn't do too much.

all on the promise of a new olympic bar and partly my way of making them happy before asking if they will consider a squat rack or even squat stands. The chances are slim to none but one can live in hope.

Sounds just like the gym I used to go to. They never dude, so I bought my own LOL!

I had great success with the Ortmayer deadlift routine back at the beginning of the year. Good luck, hope it pans out for you.....it is properly brutal!

Thank you very much mate Happy my pressing seemed to be at a stand still so i am trying to press twice a week aswell as squat twice a week. I had a few people suggest the dead routine as they enjoyed success with it so fingers crossed I get the same.

Yea I highly doubt they will and I will offer to buy stands to keep and use in there but don't see that happening either but lucky I have found a gym close to work with a squat rack so all is well at the moment. Even though it would be more convenient to be able to squat in my usual gym.

That's good to know, a couple of people recommended it and I tried the Coan deadlift program at the start of the year with success so thought I'd give this one a go aswell. I'm starting to understand how brutal it really is and i've done 2 weeks so I am looking at the rest of the program with dread but optimism and slight relish of the challenge.

Squats + Bench at Harry's

It has been a long, hard week at work so the end of my working week was met with elation which was increased by the fact I was squatting tonight, which even though I am terrible at it, is becoming my favourite session as it is a challenge and I love a challenge! After not finding the 6 set of 3 reps at the tail end of last week the easiest thing I've done I knew having to increase the reps to 6 sets of 4 was going to be a struggle to complete to say the least.

Squats -

60kg x 8
80kg x 8
100kg x 3
115kg x 2
Was extremely happy with these as I thought I had cracked the stance issue as all these felt by far the most comfortable, speedy and easiest reps I have ever performed in my short squatting career.
135kg x 4
135kg x 4
135kg x 4
135kg x 4
135kg x 4
135kg x 4

First set felt just as comfortable as the warm up/light work sets but my form quickly deteriorated until it dissolved into utter s**t! Was beyond annoying but I was happy I managed get all prescribed reps and sets with no failures Happy

Box Squats -

80kg x 5
80kg x 5
80kg x 5
80kg x 5
80kg x 5

These felt very fast and better than ever.

Good Mornings -

60kg x 8
60kg x 8
60kg x 8
60kg x 8

Felt ok but not sure of the technique so stuck with a manageable which I could feel on my lower back and hamstrings in a good way.

Bench -

70kg x 10
100kg x 8
110kg x 5
120kg x 3
130kg x 2
140kg x 2

Second rep on the 140kg was a proper grinder so left it there. Have benched properly in awhile so wasn't surprised but all the other reps felt good.

Incline Dumbbell Press -

35kg x 8
45kg x 6 Reps PB
54kg x 2 PB

Happy with these Grin Can't remember the last time I done these.

A few cable crossovers and that was it. Got everything done that I wanted to get done so can't complain. Now a weekend of rest then a couple of sessions next week before resting leading up to the comp next weekend.

Holy s**t, lot of work there you machine! Like the music choice Happy

Squat form is starting to smooth out. Still a little lean forward especially on the latter sets but it's definitely better than before.

Good stuff mate!
