New River Sports Centre. 10mins drive, or he can get the 121 bus from Enfield towards Wood Green/Turnpike Lane. I train at a gym that will do - £25 a month, they have a squat rack, benches and 50kg dumbells. Maybe good for up to 250kg squats and deads.

Stan Efferding isn't too bad - lean, strong raw...

To have lost all that weight and only a 5% or so decrease in performance to me seems like you're a better lifter. I know that now i'm weaker, i'm paying much more attention to my diet and training.

I had pneumonia at the start of the year. My best bench was 155kg raw, which i did after heavy shirted sessions, often over 200kg to boards. I also squatted 240kg with belt and wraps at about 84kg. Not huge numbers but they were much better than i was doing after 2 weeks of illness - benched 100 for 3, squat was down to 140kg for 3 and deadlifts... couldn't shift 4 plates.

It just happens - if you can't lift as much, you just can't lift as much. I signed up for a comp which i'm lifting in next month and am hoping for 210/125/210 which is about as good as i'm realistically going to do. Be realistic. Of course you're going to lift less when you're not on gear and weigh less. Just do the best you can giving your circumstances. Family and work should come first, if you have them, and training second. If you have no family commitments, then of course training can take priority.

Edit - i just realised you mentioned BW not strength. I looked better at 84kg than i did after a pneumonia ridden 74kg guy, i just got on with it.

Above the sinks in the changing rooms, or in the bin.

35kg in a little over a year. Good job! I've gained 6kg in about 8 years.

APT Convicts have outperformed every knee wrap i've tried. Not tried metal silver ones as worn by Malanichev though.

Lots of PBs lately. Are you doing the british raw champs in May?

it's an electrolyte, along with sodium and chlorine (sodium chloride, table salt). There's also magnesium i think, all helps prevent cramp. Need it all in the right ratios, so a tube of pringles and a few bananas. Sodium chloride makes you thirsty, so you're getting in the water which will be stored.

If there are places left, please put my name down for the Novice class
Yaman Mustafa. Will send the cheque within the week if there's room.

Are there still places left for the novices? Deadlift is about 200kg raw, but will likely be 220-230ish by August. BW is about 80kg. I'm guessing there's no weight classes.

Well done on your first comp - strongman does seem to be more "involving" for spectators than powerlifting.
