had a play on the ram the other day and enjoyed it. I have a dangerous habbit of spending frivolously on night shifts (which i am on now)

which is best?

I've got the red slingshot and love it, I got a 110 paused bench last night after a long time not training properly put the slingshot on and decided to rep the 110 and got a set of 10 and a set of 8 after the single, all paused. I love it but I'd love a go with a ram though to see the difference.

Ok maybe I should extend the question to Why?

Did you just get it from pullum?

for me it just feels alot better than the other because the chest plate is seprate to the cuffs and at a diffrent angle so the you can pull the cuffs right up and tuck the chest plate sort of into your pecs like you would with the neckline of a shirt

as for wanting a double the heavier the wieghts get the less it gives you so a single would give you alot more if your hitting 100-140 range raw but less if your hitting say 180+

Are you planning to bench in a shirt?

How many raw guys fail a bench at the top?

Ok so is the slingshot a similar design to the ballista where it's not separate arm/chest portions like the ram?

I think the ram works far better for raw benchers than shirted benchers all depends on how you use them most people throw them on put more woght on the bar and hit max sloppy singles I think a much better way is to use it for rep work that way can get the workload in without hammering the shoulders if I was hitting 160 for doubles raw I would aim to hit 160x10 with the ram after the raw work

Just ordered one of those rams this morning from Pullum so will report back when its landed and I've had chance to use it...

Not been anywhere near my PB on bench for a while but still repping around the 160kg range so want to do more heavy reps and see if I can overload but without shagging my shoulders etc...

How do you think it'd be best to use it?

Get up to the rep range just as normal (wrist wraps and sometimes with my bumblebees on) or work up in singles to the weight I want to rep with the RAM on then go from there?
