Billwest said:Good luck at the weekend mate. 570 may be a bit optimistic but second lifts of 195/125/225 sound easily doable for you at the moment and depending on the day, there is no reason why you shouldn't get at least one of your pencilled in 3rd attempts. Deadlift is favourite i would think.

Cheers Bill, i'm fairly confident on the squat and deadlift at the moment but the bench is pants.....

Good luck for the weekend mate, I hope you shoulder holds up for you

Thanks, I'll be eating relatively normally between now and competition day. My shoulder is the big worry, i'm thinking of dropping my opener down to 110 or 100 just to get one in.

Well, after waiting many weeks to get an appointment to see a consultant about my bad shoulder, i turned up at the hospital (Three Shires, Northampton)today 10 minutes early for my consultation, only to be told that the consultant can't make it and that they'll ring me at some point to re-arrange!!!!!!!!

The c*nt is probably on a golf course somewhere....

The bas***d.

I take it by the Three Shires you were going private? i've been waiting 6 months for mine on the NHS!
AvatarFinch
Private! No way, National Health and I have waited bl**dy months. If I was going private they could have seen me last year! Apparently the Three Shires do some NHS consulting when they need some easy money!!!!

Good luck Ian

Sunday 6th Feb.
EM Unequipped - Letchworth.

Weighed in at 116.4 Kilos.

Squat.
Warmed up to 170K before they announced a 30 minute delay to the afternoon session, took a 10 minute break and then warmed up all over again.
185K. No problem.
195K. Felt comfortable, comp PB.
202.5K. Failed, felt comfortable going down, depth was good but then leaned forward a little on the drive and stalled. Dissapointing, a better technique would have nailed it.

Bench.
Wramed up to 110, dropped my opener due to bad shoulder pain.
115 - No problem.
120 - No problem but the shoulder aggrivation kicked in big time.
125 - Failed, too painful on the way down and made a poor attempt at pressing.

Deadlift.
Warmed up to 200.
215 - No problem.
225 - A real struggle but it kept moving.
232.5 - Never budged it.

Total - 540. 7.5K less than i lifted at the Brits but the bench was well below par. Very sore and tired today.

Came second overall to Malc who was on fire, hitting PB's all over the place.
Billwest
Well done Ian. At least you got one comp PB. Only bench let you down a bit, and that was due to an injury.
Avatarmarc
Just as you predicted Finchy babes..well done. predict 570 next time it will happen mate
Avatar1369phil
