Crikey, I take a week off and I need to look on page 10 for this log!

Wednesday 31st August.
First day back at the Farm.
I got home around 1 in the morning and after 5 hours sleep, a full days work, 2 cups of coffee and a bag of chips I was back in my squat boots. Weighed in at 117.3 kilos. Just 8 of us training tonight.

Today was simply about losing a bit of rust, target was 3x3x75% max on all lifts. Unfortunately it does not always go to plan. I felt awfull all night, really lethargic and everything was HEAVY.

Squat.
10 x 20
5 x 70
5 x 110
3 x 130
3 x 3 x 150
3 x 130
Sweating up like crazy!

Bench.
20 x 20
10 x 60
5 x 80
3 x 3 x 100
10 x 80
Right shoulder was bad, the rest has made it worse! Only the last set felt comfortable.

Deadlift.
5 x 60
5 x 100
3 x 140
2 x 3 x 180
I should have done another couple of sets but felt that home (more chips) and sleep would suit me better.

Friday 2nd September.

Weighed in at 117.25K. The Farm was busy again toinight, it's always better training when the place is buzzing. Tonight was my second "return" session with the target being 3x2x80%.

Squat.
10 x 20
5 x 70
5 x 110
3 x 130
2 x 145
3 x 2 x 160
3 x 145
It all felt much easier than on Wednesday.

Bench.
20 x 40
10 x 67.5
5 x 85
3 x 2 x 105
5 x 90
No problems and not as much shoulder pain.

Deads.
5 x 70
5 x 110
3 x 150
3 x 2 x 190
No problems.

Back to proper training next week.
Avatarmikeyp
Good sessions Ian, getting back into it nicelyHappy
AvatarFinch
Cheers Mike, i'm looking for 5 weeks of solid build up now in an attempt to peak for the "All Englands".

Monday 5th.

Weighed in at 118.8K, too fat, however this is the result of a heavy weekend of eating and drinking!

Deadlift. Three's tonight.
2 x 5 x 70
5 x 110
3 x 150
3 x 175
3 x 200
3 x 190
3 x 180
3 x 160
This session hurt but all the lifts were good and solid with no bouncing!

Bench.
20 x 20
10 x 60
5 x 80
3 x 100
2 x 2 x 110
5 x 100
10 x 80
Comfortable.

Cleans.
The farm lift of the month for September.
3 x 40
2 x 50
1 x 60
1 x 70
1 x 80
1 x 92.5 FAILED.
I'm really s**t at cleans, I had intended to stop at 80 but it felt easy so I made the mistake of attemting a 92.5 PB but failed badly.

Nice deadlifting Ian, i can only dream of triples@200 at the moment.
Avatar40_plus
All being well Ian I should be with you on Wednesday evening for an hour of deadlifting.

Wednesday 7th September.

Another quiet night at the Farm, just 7 of us and that includes Les, down for a deadlift session with squatkingkev and Ashley making a welcome return after spending time vacationing in one of her majesty's finest hotels!!!

Weighed in at 118.6K. What a bloater!

Squat.
10 x 20
5 x 70
1/2 Squats to bench.
5 x 120
5 x 160
5 x 180
3 x 200
2 x 210
1 x 215
5 x 180
Everything came up but I really struggled unracking and stepping back with the 200+ lifts.

Bench.
20 x 20
10 x 60
8 x 80
5 x 100
3 x 110
2 x 115
3 x 110
5 x 100
10 x 85
No problems, satisfied with these.

I had intended to attempt some more cleans tonight but I never got above 40K before getting bored!

I'll be in Hamilton, just south of Glasgow on Friday night so I might try and find a gym up there for a workout.

Monday 12th.

Busier at the Farm tonight, around 15 lifters. Weighed in at 117.7K. Deadlifts with Snerpjo (making a comeback at the "ALL ENGLAND") and benching with a whole bunch of guy's.

Doubles to 90% max tonight.

Deadlift.
2 x 5 x 70
5 x 110
2 x 150
2 x 190
2 x 210
2 x 200
2 x 180
5 x 160
No problems, suprisingly comfortable.

Bench.
20 x 20
10 x 60
8 x 80
5 x 100
2 x 112.5
1 x 120
2 x 112.5
5 x 100
10 x 90
Only a single at 120, the double was not there so I did not attempt a second press, maybe later in the week.
AvatarEDCLARKE
very nice deadlifting , do you need spotters for the all England?
AvatarFinch
Most definately we will need spotters Ed.
Free entry, Free refreshments and a Free T shirt for all spotters.

Cheers Ed, Bill.

Wednesday 14th.
Long day at the ExCel in London today looking at guns, tanks, rockets and loads of other ways to kill people. Got to the gym a little late but it was a quiet day. Squats with Snerpjo, Stuart and Big Dave joined us for the Benching.
Weighed in at 117.35.

Squats.
10 x 20
5 x 70
5 x 110
3 x 135
2 x 150
2 x 165
2 x 177.5 Failed badly with an attempt for a third.
2 x 170
5 x 140
This was another failed attempt at a 3x PB. The first 177 was comfortable and whilst the second felt a little ragged I really thought the third was there, however I started to black out on the way up and the spotters had to take it before I collapsed. Bugg*r!

Bench.
20 x 20
10 x 60
8 x 80
5 x 100
3 x 110
2 x 117.5
1 x 122.5
2 x 117.5
5 x 105
10 x 90
Whilst the shoulders are still not pain free I'm happy with the way that my benching is creeping up again.
AvatarFinch
Friday 16th.

Weighed in at 118.05K.

Deadlift.
2 x 5 x 70
5 x 110
3 x 150
3 x 180
3 x 202.5
3 x 192.5
3 x 180
5 x 162.5
No problems.

Bench.
20 x 20
10 x 60
8 x 80
5 x 100
4 x 110
2 x 120
1 x 125
2 x 120
5 x 107.5
10 x 90
Pleased with this it felt like a good session.
AvatarEDCLARKE
looks a like a good session ,from the benching i take it your shoulder is feeling better.
Avatar40_plus
Hi Ian

I've not ruled it out yet but competing at the All Englands is highly unlikely following my recent injury.
I'm supposed to be doing the WDFPF World's in November so I need to concentrate my efforts on going to that no matter how badly I lift there.

Regards

Les.
