Had a little bit of the fear walking into the gym 5x5 115kg squats is covering new ground. Luckily my beastly Hungarian buddy was there so he spotted me and psyched me up.
Squats: 10xbar, 5x60kg, 5x80kg, 3x100kg, 5x5 115kg // last couple a bit slow but no really grinders! Sunday 6x3 120kg! (or maybe a PB attempt?)
Strict OH Press: 10xbar, 8x40kg, 8x50kg, 3x60kg, Fx70kg // maybe little crackpipe to go for the 70kg.
Curls: 21's // hitting a club tonight, need to look good in my new lucky shirt.
Tricep pulldowns: 4x8 // balls to the walls with these. A wise man (buzz) once told me that the tricep makes up 65.4% of the muscle in your arm.

My main training buddy has hurt his lat so didnt show. Plan said 120kg 6x3 which kicked in the fear. Warmups felt heavy, had to have a little talk to myself about getting strong, put linkin park in the ipod and got on with it.
Squats: 10xbar, 5x60kg, 3x 90kg, 3x100kg, 120kg 3,3,3,3,3,5 // Comfy as, no worries, plenty more in there! Onwards and upwards
Inclince Bench: 10xbar, 8x40kg, 8x60kg, 8x70kg, 5x80kg (little help from spotter), 15x60kg
GHR: 3x15

18 minutes swimming trying to keep up with overweight middle age people who really know how to swim.
This time next week I will be Cape Town sitting on the beach.

Not sure, might train with my hardcore powerlifting buddies tomorrow or Thursday. 500kg total will fall in the next 2 months for sure.

Tuesday ; Smolovy2 3x9 day

Smolov kicked me in th ass today, nearly throw up on the second set. f**king intense training.
Squats: 10xbar, 5x60kg, 3x80kg, 2x100kg, 3x9 110kg // brutal lungs on fire. Last 3 was a little numb and ugly form but went up quick enough. I am starting to get the knack of keeping tension till the bottom, so I am in a better position to come out of the hole rather than stumbling forward.
BB Curls: 8,8,6 30kg
Tricep Pulldowns 8,8,8,8
Seated preacher cable curls: 8,8,8,5
"Ez bar" Pullups: 4,4,4 // realized these are harder than flat bar pullups.Wink

Thanks mate, going on holidays for 5 weeks on Friday so it the last push before a change of gym and scene.

Deadlift Wednesday at the Bodybuilding Gym

The trash talking started as I walked in the door today. All the bodybuilders stop there discussion on PED's to tell me how I should not be drinking redbull before training. My heart is going to explode and my kidneys are going to fail.
Even more chirps as I warmed up and did singles. The joy of training with bodybuilders.
Deadlift: 6xbar, 5x60kg, 3x100kg, 1x140kg, 1x170kg, 1x200, 1x225kg PB!! lets call it 500lbs as I put 2 home made collars on that probably weight 800g each at least. // was a little slower at the lock out than last weeks. More in there for sure, but not the right atmosphere to push it.
Cable Rows: 8,8,8,8
Lat pulldowns: 8,8,6
Lat Pulldowns HG: 8,8,8
Upright rows: 8,8,8
DB Press: 10,10,10

Its going to be a good year, that is the plan anyway. So far so good.

I am still behind you strong little man. Not for much longer maybe. 500kg total will fall very shortly.

Did some research about gyms in Cape Town. Will be there for the next 5 weeks and need somewhere to train.

I probably wont deadlift for 5 weeks, so you have until then to catch up. Consider the gauntlet thrown down.

Last session before holidays, my training buddy is doing his first comp in the next couple of weeks so need some practice with wraps.
Thursday
======
Squats: 5xbar, 5x60kg, 3x100kg, wraps on 2x110kg, 2x130kg, 1x160kg PB // lots to learn about wraps still was not hitting depth until the 160kg. Combination of my technique and the wrapping not going up my thigh enough. With 160kg the wraps where spot on and didnt bite into my hamstring as painfully.
Then couple of walk outs with 180kg and a quarter squat with it.
