many thanks to you and the lads for your support today
I have a small foam roller you could borrow for a couple of weeks while I'm away
I could bring it to adders on Monday if you want

Very kind George but the matter has been sorted. The good Doctor had a spare foam roller in his boot, which we transferred to mine, there will be rollerage before the weekend is out.

As for the support, think nothing of it, it was my pleasure.

Cheers Boar, I did some research last night and found that site, I was going to order on Monday, but as per previous post Rick has came to my assistance.

I was thinking a thong / mazola combo for any footage ?

Edit sight and site are two very different things. Oaf!

Ah I might have known Rick would have had one! I recall noticing the beautiful curveture of his spine from his benching at the North West champs the other week!

I am going to issue a very gentle reprimand for that young Tom, you should be joyous at the good fortune of others. It sets us aside from the hoi-polloi and makes us better people.

Not naturally gifted, Tom, just the result of working hard on it for years!

Being too lazy to do the other lifts probably doesn't hurt the mobility either Wink.

I'm sure Rick will discard the jestful first word and take it as the compliment it was Happy

And Rick, well done for achieving it without using the foam roller! What kind of things did you have to work on to improve it?

Essentially I just work on my setup pretty much every bench session. It takes four or five sets, minimum, before I can hit the position I want to be in. There's nothing particularly clever about it.

I'm quite a simple chap, really.

Monday 18th October, start 1700 with a few concerns about this back

Squat, old suit, straps down, naked knees, working in with Aaron, all weights in kilograms

60 x 5
60 x 5
60 x 5
60 x 5
straps up
105 x 5
145 x 5
185 x 3
wraps on
225 x 3
245 x 3
265 x 3

The back gave no pain, i could feel it, and was aware of it but no pain, the 225 and the 245 were fine but the 265 was a bit rum on two counts, first I cought my hands on the racks, they frequently rub against them but this time they caught and sent be backwards faster than I like when they came free. Steadied and squatted the first two quite nicely, the third was a grind though, good enough and deep enough but very slow. I was intending to go to 280 after it but I decided not to as the message from this squat was not "go on do another" it was most certainly "no more, not here, not now, leave it" My spotters Aaron and Rick (who were almost needed twice in the same set), readily agreed. So we stay at 265 for tonight, and pencil in 280 for next week, when confidence in the back will hopefully be higher. End 18:30 and offski

A New Leaf is custom designed, engineered, and built to Super Sized Cycles' exacting standards. This beauty rides like a dream and holds up to 550 pounds.

It has a custom chromoly steel frame with an 8 speed internal gear. A New Leaf comes with front disc and rear rotor brakes, to let even a fully loaded bike stop on a dime. Top of the line rims, tubes, and tires have lots of volume and traction for comfort and stability.

If you're looking for a bike to have fun with, to motivate you and to keep you moving, this is the cycle for you. A New Leaf is an ideal bike for riders who are comfortable on a bike, and are already fairly strong. It's styled a little like a mountain bike, and has the strength and comfort of a Super Sized Cycle. The 8 speeds allow for plenty of range, and the internal gear system means no mess or fuss for you.

Every penny you invest in this bike will be returned to you in physical and emotional health and the sheer joy of moving through this world with grace and speed!

Wednesday, 20 th October, start 17:15

Rum goings on motorway-wise dear readers, some clown has crashed at J19 on the M62 which has bolloxed the clockwise carriageway of the M60, normally it would be a simple matter of going the other way round, but MUFC are playing girls' games at home tonight and that will bollox the anticlockwise carriageway. Oh dear. Thay are tailing back to J13, so sayeth the radio and it is fact, I was at J13 in that very queue.

Very thin on the ground at Adders tonight, Alan is on international duties, others have car trouble, others have other trouble, thin on the ground then.

Bench, raw, in a bad mood, all weights in avoirdupois for a change

45 x 20
120 x 5
160 x 5
180 x 5
200 x 5
220 x 5
240 x 5
240 x 5
240 x 5
240 x 5
240 x 5

And that will do, now for the serious bit, I leg it to the car for the 6:20 traffic report and the tailback is - worse, it's now back to J5 and that makes it a few miles worse, so I canna go clockwise and I canna go anticlockwise so I canna go at all. I phone the home of the tubular bandage and cancel the booking for the first time ever. They are most gracious and understanding which is more than I could say for GoatBoy who was livid. There was some unpleasantness and a few tears (his not mine) but he's over the worst of it. I wonder what is on the telly wednesday nights ?
