Is it f**k young man. Grin Gets the lungs going and it's a full body impact exercise. If you get a chance and see kev, big Scott or Paul Swinton ask them about the sled drags at results

I have started back using them and they can really do a good job at finishing the legs after a squat sessionGrin

Have done it in the past quite a bit at results and yeah it is quite tiring.

Was thinking of buying one so wanted to see if people thought it is worth it. For raising your total, is it just because your general fitness is greater so you can recover easier or is there another reason?

the sled is a great deal for conditioning, fat loss, strength, everything!

I may go pull the sled tomorrow morning if the snow is reasonably gone!

So how would you go about including this in your training?

Also, did you find it increased your lifts at all?

If anybody asked me if there was one piece of exercise equipment you should get what would it be? I would say a prowler/sled. It helped me in my judo/grappling/wrestling days and has helped in my genegral training.I have a prowler and a tyre that I put sand bags in and drag around.A prolwer can do loads of stuff.a sled is more resricted but can be used a few ways.seriously awesome bits of kit.if you get a harness you can drag your car about too.another good session.t

If you can't get access to a sled or a prowler pushing your car around is just as good. It is great for conditioning and is easy access as you probably already have one in front of the house now. As for it making your lifts better...hmmm... kinda depends. It will increase your conditioning which will help you with the healing process after tough sessions, so it will allow you to recover faster thus allowing you to hit hard more often and I guess we could call that improving your lifts. Honestly, no matter what sport you do, some conditioning should be included no matter what.

Sandbag dragging is even more a bas***d. (That's what I've used in the past as I have never had a sled). Will have to get one I think though! I got too pissed off with my sandbag ripping apart from the concrete!

Where's the best place to get a Prowler or Prowler-a-like in the UK?
