Trump will get another four years Member 126, 16707 posts SQ 160, BP 110, DL 225495.0 kgs @ 75kgs UnEq | Kings Lynn Strongest Under 90kg Absolutely mullered my back at the beginning of the year training for the natty qualifier to the point where I was considering my future in strongman - not insignificant after 12 years in the game! However, decided to try and keep going by limiting the amount of deadlifting I do and taking more of a conservative approach to my training. Really didnt want to go through the whole year without a comp but at the same time didnt want to risk wrecking myself again. Saw this and it was only an hour away, low risk weights/events and gave the opportunity to support a local weight class comp. Objective was just to have a good fun run out and come out the other side with a functioning body. Weighed in first thing at 79kg at mine and then just over 80kg at the comp fully clothed. Van Pull Over the years I have managed to work out a lot of my weak events and made them strong ones or at least made myself competitive at them. Not this one! Probably my worst event currently. Given this, I knew I would probably take a pretty big L on it as I was giving away 10kg in the weight class and there was no rope to pull. Came 10th out of 11 lol so no surprise victory for me lol. Was prepared for it though. Log Press - 75kg in 60secs Probably helped that log was next as that is one of my strongest events so I was confident of good points if not the win. It was a strengthshop log which I have heard bad reviews of but I actually thought it felt ok. Warm ups felt easy and the target was 10 minimum. Managed to do 11 with a 12th on the way up for the win - definitely the sexiest tekkers of the day also which is as important. Farmers Walk - 80kg for 30m Super light for me - 70kg is my usual first warm up and 110+ my working weights but, as I said, that wasnt really of benefit as im not that quick on my feet. Everyone was found it easy so the whole field was split by about 2secs. I finished 6th within about a second of 1st. Enjoyed doing farmers on an actual flat surface instead of the potholed ankle snapping run im used to in my garden! Hammer Hold - 15kg Never done a front hold before but have done crucifix holds a couple of times and come top 3 both times so I was pretty confident. Didnt do any training for it as that kind of thing always wrecks my shoulders. All went ok and I went to my limit - ended up with about 1min 5secs and 5th which...well meh really - not an event I can get overly excited about! Silver Dollar Deadlift - 180kg in 60secs Only did one deadlift session in preparation for this which consisted on 5 easy reps with 190 so I was slightly concerned id have to do a brutal amount of reps - turned out that the concern was well placed lol. Watched the a lot of the first timers banging out 20+ reps before us so I knew itd be a massive rep fest. In addition to that, the refs were allowing bounced reps which racked up the totals even more. Decided that I wasnt going out like that with pussy ass bounced deads so I knew id have to rep for the full 60 to keep up with the bouncers. Just zoned out and kept pulling till I reached my limit with about 5 secs to spare. Was a weird feeling doing that many reps - felt closer to doing sprints on a rower than deadlifting! Asked the ref straight after how many reps I got and he told me 27 which would have got me joint 2nd but shortly after I got a look at the scoresheet and I was credited with 26 for joint 3rd. Watched the vid back and it was 27.. In the end I finished up 4th, one point off third. Maybe it would have been 3rd with that extra deadlift rep credited but I didnt bother disputing it because, as I said, I just wanted a good run out without injury. And, as far as that went, it was mission accomplished!

You could of easily podiumed if you finished atleast mid table on that first event, which shows your other events are bang on. This is meant as a compliment, but to also go out and pull some vans!
