Training today:

Deadlift:

100kg x 5
120kg x 5
140kg x 3
160kg x 1
195kg x 1
240kg fail Unhappy

Squat:

60kg x 5
80kg x 5
100kg x 3
130kg x 1
wraps on:
150kg x 1

Pull ups:

BW 3 x 5
BW x 20

the big one didnt go. it was an ambitious target tho. warm ups were flying so I am pretty confident 23[something] is there.

weighed 73.1kg this morning so 150 was only my 2nd ever 2x bw squat so happy with that. wasnt that hard so next target is to do 160 as that was the bas***d weight that tore my hamstring.

deadlift disappointment is tempered by the fact that although 240 didnt go, I am around and about my top end strength at a much lighter bodyweight AND the fact that the protege just sent me a vid of him owning his first 200 pull.

Man that cat is going to have you soon.

Just my opinion BUT the deadlift weight progression is wrong

you
should
never
take
bigger
jumps
than previous sets

`Did it leave the floor?

lol.

I have always built up like that with 1rm deadlift. fear of wasting energy I guess. what would you do? 200, 220, 240?

no it didnt. I dont usually fail if it comes off the floor.

I agree with the other loose women.

Too big a jump. I would have stuck a 220kg rep in between Grin

you took 20kg jumps 100 120 140 160 THEN 35kg Then 45kg

I would go something like

60 100 140 180 then decide from there, if you were hellbent on 245

go 215/220 first
