PaulSavage said:Just did some rehab. Basic movement / stretching stuff. Will do it again later. Have got very little range at this point. Pain hasn't gone down much at all.

Do you video this stuff as I said I do very little would be interested too see if it’s useful for me.

If you really wanted to compete next week I could get you in with the massage man I use. He does graston techniques it’s quite brutal but he’s all I use and he keeps me together I see him about once every 6 wks in season and he will probably fix you I’m sure

Why not use a normal farmers apparatus that you can tilt forward
and get momentum - also training on same type used in real competition?
when we do them at conditioning typically 100-120kg per hand
for us powerlifters - strongmen like mark Steele and Marian 160kg per hand.
national opens caliber is big weight and twinkle toed foot speed.
surely trying to move fast with such a light weight is like trying to improve a 250kg bench by repping 60kg?

Well it's different because I hadn't done any moving events in years so jumping in at 100kg-120kg a hand after training would defo be big risk of injury and I'd no doubt move really slow with them anyway and would be hard to recover with everything else I was doing. Also I had 17 weeks at that point and the yoke and farmers were not super heavy in the comp (140kg a hand and 360kg).

You also mentioned about moving with them forward for momentum, well what I was going to do was not only use the spud inc stuff where you can't do that but also attach a sled to me so essentially training driving forward rather than using the assistance. The last 3 sessions were going to be on regular implements. The spud inc ones are great for keeping the farmers away from the legs which is a big problem with the anarchy ones (especially if you have 36" thighs like I do) and the yoke is even tougher on the core than a normal yoke so after training on those for a while even a s**tty yoke would feel like a dream and be easier to control.

Another thing to note is these are speed events and actually lighter weights can be of great use. Loz can move fast with a 500kg yoke, a heavy yoke to him he would struggle with would probably have to be 700kg or something daft but he routinely does runs with 250-300kg. That's not actually much different than the 40kg a hand farmers or 135kg yoke when you look at the math + consider at the time / on the spud inc straps I would probably have struggled a lot with 100k a hand and 250-300k on the yoke.

There's no possible way he could fix me for next week, I'm in a really bad way and that's just too soon. I'd be worried id end up in a wheelchair trying those kind of weights that fast. I can't stand up properly as it is. Personally I think the 6 weeks Becca's physio has said is super optimistic to be lifting anything decent as dont think I've ever felt pain like this.

HOWEVER, I will message you about him, interested in graston.

Edit - will video some for you, of Becca's and mine (but its always very simple stuff)

I'll check that out but trust me this can't be fixed with a session of massage, if it was something that minor I would have hardly been bothered, never mind pulled out (keep in mind I've already gone through a slipped disk in this prep). Becca's physio is also high level, need to see her about it next week then can see if massage is a good idea but she didn't recommend it at this point so won't be doing that until she does. Feels way too tender to massage now but will see what she says next week.

If the medical staff are having issues with understanding how you injured yourself, you need to explain it in terms which they will understand.

See if they can envisage a jolly looking man leaving Gregg's with two bin bags full of doughnuts, in order to chase after an ice cream van going around a hairpin bend.

They should fully understand the forces acting upon your body.

All jokes aside, you could be in for a very long wait in A&E.

Unless you think you have herniated a disk, you can expect to be at the bottom of the queue.

If you speak to your GP, they should be able to refer you to outpatient care/MRI/physio.

The f**k are you talking about? I have a 61" chest, 36" thighs, 21" arms and calf's, 68" shoulders - this is a fat f**ker to you? Again, go to your own log and talk bulls**t about yourself. If you have nothing positive to say, don't say anything.

Add in your waist measurement- and a fat f**ker is exactly what you've described I'm afraid Paul.

I have almost 20" arms weighing 110kg.
21" at 170+ is not something you should brag about.

Also if you are worried about injuries having me coach you would be a brilliant idea as with me being so prone to them i know far more on how to avoid them than most and always aim to take every precaution possible all the time / that goes for my clients too.

It was a close call but ive selected this as the best part of todays posts.

You have a wealth of knowledge on avoiding injury, yet neither you or your star pupil are currently fit to compete.

Great stuff, keep it up.

(The refusal to see the Generals physio was a close second, for a guy who claims he is willing to do anything to succeed you sure as s**t aren't exactly fighting to get to Northerns, especially now that the line up has gotten so stacked)

Is it f**k, of all the people that come up to me in the gym not a single one has said 'wow your really fat' they all talk about how big I am or how much weight I'm lifting. Also the vast majority of my waist measurement is still muscle even now at 27+ stone.
