45 minutes is ALOT of fartlek !! hows the belly coming on ?

NO WAY I will ever be ripped, I'm quite fit now and still have a little 'frontage' going on, the effort involved in getting rid of it isn't worth the muscle loss !!

yes it was a tough session , the slows became longer towards the end and the mediums became not much different from the slows , I just think its a more time efficient way of getting fitter than longer runs . (although I need to start doing more of those)

I still have a belly , I'm a stone away from having visible abbs ,I'd need to get down to 12 stone 7 for that , but i'm enjoying the strength gains at the moment and I know they will disappear at that weight , i'll probably try and lose a bit more weight slowly ready for summer.

Iv given up the aim of competing and I'm just lifting for my own enjoyment. Still got some goals to hit.

Not sure my ankles and knees will enjoy the running

good stuff mate , shame you're not competing as you're naturally very strong but i can understand how it can take the enjoyment out of it .
The Boar is right a big lad like you will feel it in the knees and ankles , I try and do as much of my running as possible on grass rather than roads or pavements .
do you still go to gymn1 to train ?

Yeah its a shame but i had a good stint of running around carparks with heavy things. Im happy enough to have made it to Englands once and there are some super strong guys out there now alot more commited then me.

I want to improve my fitness running, swimming and cycling and hopefully lean out a bit to. Il make sure i start my running escapades on grass then.

Iv been to gym1 a few times but now James no longer works there the group has died out a bit.

So whats your training goals then?

I'm training muay thai twice a week with my son at the moment , and next year i plan on starting ju jitsu as well , Im running again and I plan on doing a couple of 10k's this year
and i'm lifting weights twice a week and enjoying it , I wouldnt rule out doing a powerlifting comp as some stage if i keep making gains.

I have some flexibility goals as well ,and as a family we are having a who can do a handstand for the longest competition , which i am currently in last place with about 3 seconds , the f**king wife can do it for longer and she wont even get off the sofa to look for the remote , ive got all year to practice though so no rushGrin

I'm good mate ,i can imagine baby twins is fairly horrific in the sleep department you have my sympathy (not reallyHappy )

I'm at the age now if I don't lift in some form or another i go instantly to skinny fat , plus i'm enjoying it again which for a long while I wasn't.

when I did yoga , I could easily nail 2 minutes on my head, its surprisingly empowering !!
