This was a lot lot better though. Onwards!

Then, because I'm a f**king badass I put some more hot water in until it was 'quite hot'.

Due to work, today was my nemesis, my achilles, that most despicable of things, the early morning training session! That being said it went pretty well. I should have been more conservative with my squats, as I was up early and fuelled only by coffee and a banana. Good though

After 3 weeks of daily 5s I think it is time to start varying the rep ranges a little, but still based on the same principles of effort, intensity and frequency. Squatting 160kg for a single may not seem great but I'm very pleased, I didn't lose position and my knees didn't hurt! Last time I had 160kg on the bar (3 months ago maybe?) for a high bar squat I failed it 3 times and hobbled home unsuccessful. The stuff I have been doing to strengthen my weaker areas and positions etc is paying off. 135kg CG bench is also a post surgery PB I believe. Note: As my shoulder is not enjoying regular width bench press, all bench from here on in will be with 18" inch spacing and known simply as bench rather than close grip bench, to avoid confusion

Gone and easily forgotten....... Member 331, 22298 posts SQ 185, BP 100, DL 230515.0 kgs @ 85kgs UnEq | Ho there man of shoulder knowledge. Loose shoulder joints. Would you avoid actual pressing and work much more on supportive exercises? This somehow makes a little bit of sense to me but I am not sure. Also, bench press. Good for shoulder stability overhead?

Tricky one to answer via t'interweb. If we're talking about glenohumeral laxity then supportive exercises such as various rotator cuff exercises are essential. It's often the case that poor scap control and trap development or activation can give the effect of AC instability, in which case some upper back work and positional practise such as ITWs etc will help. Generally I would still include pressing work, with more of an emphasis on mechanical accuracy etc. Personally I think bench variants can help overhead stability, primarily due to upper back positioning and activation whilst humerus is in motion, this can carry over quite well to pressing stability, especially for those with scaps that wing etc Vague I know
