I've had pain in my left elbow for around 4-5weeks and it's effected my overhead pressing. I got it checked out today and they said it's tennis elbow.. Has anyone ever had this before and did it effect your pressing power? And how/if did you manage to train around it..
Got a comp in 4weeks so resting it is not an option just thankful there's not a max overhead. Thanks in advance for any replies!

I have had it for years on and off. mine comes from s**t flexibility in shoulder forcing my bicep to take alot strain when back squatting anything heavy. pressing power is always down when its bad

ways I have trained around it

z-press but have the bar suspended by chains so the bar never comes lower than your forehead thus limiting biceps part in the movement.

machines with a fixed path so you can concentrate on keeping the tension away from injured area.

wide grip bench.

doing some heavy shrugs if it really kicks off in the middle of a session can ellivate symtoms.

best things I have done for it: rest stretch and rotate squat movements

Thanks for the replies il get started with those exercises shown. When the pain is bad I can't hold a drink let lone lift anything but if hixxy gets it and can still press huge weight overhead there is a little hope for me yet lol. I had switched to smith machines and having bar a little higher than normal which has helped but I find if I push press and don't get the weight high enough my elbow just won't let me strain Unhappy

I have a similar problem esp when overhead pressing, my bicep causes a separation at the elbow joint. the pain is severe and restricts my arm curls by 50%. I found that when deadlifting with a reverse grip in my left hand the rotation of my elbow and stretch of the arm combined gave me immediate relief that lasted for a few hours, I have it only in my left elbow . it took about 150k deadlift to produce enough downward pressure, its more to relieve the pain than a cure but if it helps to carry on training its worth trying good luck .
