Apparently the latest trend in some quarters is to bounce squats and the bench press. The bigger the bounce the more you can lift. I'm not entirely convinced but seeing some dude bouncing his bench, I can work my way up to a 180kg belly bench Grin



I'm not sure on the bouncing squats tho, what is there to bounce from? There is no padding on the feet/calves.

TonyRaw is a nice gent. He has so much going for him that the way in which other people squat (by which I mean to depth) doesn't trouble him at all.

Stretch shortening cycle for the win! I don't know about anyone else but my hamstrings/calves are not the same shape or thickness as a steel bar therefore it is not the same thing bouncing benches vs squats.

Isn't the 'bounce' during a squat actually just a muscle stretch reflex? Unlike bouncing a bench which is evil and should be punishable by crucifixion.

I dunno but i bounce my squats like FOOK and i love it.
