Stayed over near Yarm really nice place had a nice meal and few pints then went to bed early. Felt good this morning got to venue dead on 10 to weigh in no sign of anybody Final got weighed I. Bout 10:40 ? 89.1 fully clothed. Then went to weather spoons for a big brekkie think this was highlight of my day really good banter with Bulmer Liam Shane and paddy. Kinda felt like a cut scene from WSM lol only smaller ( except paddy) Event 1 Log. 95k Thin log that dug into the forearms badly. Shane was out after me so new he'd do one more no matter how many I got so I just went for 1st place at the time 4 or 5 reps. Managed 7 to make sure 2nd place. Event 2 van dead This was very light and bouncing was allowed. Target was 28 managed 24 shouldn't have had a break in between but hey how 3rd / 4th ? Event 3 tire Was worried about this but manged 44.summit seconds which is faster than I've done at home so was pretty chuffed however loads of people smoked it Shane beat me by a click of the finger. 6th ? Event 4 forward hold. I've never trained this and was pretty pleased with my 44 seconds (I was 2nd out) didn't last long when almost everyone beat me lol Always one f**k up event  I would however have trained it if I'd known as would of every one else I suppose, also think the ref was a little hard on me and timed me out when he gave later guys warnings, although its a tough event to ref. Maybe 8th 9th ? Event 5 back to back tug o war. 1st Had been looking forward to this and was first out. Big G Bulmer suggested bare feet and it worked a treat. Round 1 win. Round 2 was a tough pull but I manged a win although ripped the skin off both big toes. Final against the prodigy lol I new he was good at this and I had to tape my toes up and put my shoes one. 1st pull managed to win just Shaun went off like a rocket and nearly had me I just managed to stop him about 30cm from the line then powered home for the 1st round win. 2nd pull got better footing and held him firm when I felt him relax a bit I just went for it to win the event. I needed this win to qualify So was pretty pleased. Onwards to England's. When I get interwebs connection ill upload all the vids. Peace. | ||
