Member 13, 14460 posts SQ 230, BP 180.5, DL 262.5673.0 kgs @ 128kgs UnEq Administrator | just had this on a deadlift fail video Why are fat people the only ones I see on youtube trying to max out? To prove they're not fat? Do some cardio and some legitimate strength training and maybe you'll feel better about your body and not need to tear back and hamstring muscles to lift a ridiculous amount of steel one time. LOL

9x WSM finalist! Member 662, 3372 posts | trouble is people always think their way of living their life is the best way! I had one the other day that was saying "why would you do that to yourself, look fat, have bad posture and that is just what's going on on the outside, imagine your organs from the years of abusing steroids" My response was I train to be the best at my sport and that I think people that only go to the gym to look 'good' (that's all reletive, I am actually happy with the way I look) are shallow. People lose track of the fact we all train to be the best at our chosen sports not so we can wear tight t-shirts to the pub. I know some people like that as an added bonus but the main reason is the sport. I personally don't know why you wouldn't lift big weights if you can. He is probably about 10 stone and thinks he is in shape cause he has abs but has a small amount of muscle mass on his arms and chest

Still got a little bit of strength Member 400, 22055 posts | Why is it that face-to-face arguments in gyms are very rare, and yet internet arguments between the same types of people are rife? Sad.

Obvious Juicer Member 1613, 1036 posts SQ 185, BP 140, DL 220545.0 kgs @ 66kgs UnEq | Ronnie Coleman said it: -Ain't nothing to it but to do it- Civilization has made most humans lost their relationship with their bodies. They forgotten why we even have muscles and why the body can respond to heavy weights. Adaptation is a natural process of the body that's aimed to survive a stressor. The satisfaction of breaking a PR is something that take us way back in time, it's a feeling of reward granted to us by millions of years of overcoming obstacles, hunting a prey, winning a fight... etc. It's one of thouse things that some of us can still be connected with and feel more "on this earth".
