Pennington Flash 5k Parkrun: 30:24

Slowest time of the last three weeks, but it was sub 31 again so fairly happy.

Spent the rest of the day helping my son move into his flat. First one to leave home, bit weird, bit sad, but made up for him.

Tried something different and it was horrible

Don't even know what to call it..

It was totally f**king horrible. After the 10s I realised I had been over ambitious with the weights I had chosen on pwr clean and the deadlift. 10,9,8, and 7 were possibly the hardest thing I have ever done. I felt as if I was going to die. From 6 onwards I expected it to get easier, but it remained horrible right to the end.

Total of 165 reps, time taken to complete 54:31

If it ever do it again I would be tempted to adjust the weights to 50k press, 60k pwr clean, and 100 deadlift, which would hopefully bring the time to complete down nearer the 30 minute mark and not be quite as terrible.

Make him do your weights rather than the other way round. It may be the last visit of the year for him, it isn't for you
