There has been some great, cagey racing this year in atrocious conditions. All the people pissing and moaning about how Sky ride seem to have ridiculously romanticised versions of what road racing should be. Heroic 200km breakaways or attacks from 2 cols from the finish are epic, but the world doesn't work like that. I'm not a particular fan of Sky ( I'm not anti, either), but if you have a team who can ride tempo all day and pilot their main GC hope to a few kms from the finish, then that's what you do.

I must be one of the few cycling fans who actually quite enjoy watching the sky train in full flow. Whilst I admit it's not got the flare of the cycling that I love, watching the worlds best riders get shredded by the unrelenting pace is fun.
It'd be my ideal race if they do it in the Tour enough to get stacked selections and then watching Froome and Porte battle it out with Contador, Purito, Valverde et al. I'm looking forward to the GTs more this year than in a long long time.
