First workout on Zwift today. 85 min sweet spot.

Really like the non Erg mode. (Erg mode doesn't work with a power meter) Much more like having to hold a steady power on a real road and breaks up the monotony of being locked into a constant power output.

I'm just cooling down from 40 minutes at sweet spot. Bloody hard work!

I had it in my physically Boar but mentally I was spent. I realised I was better saving it than obliterating myself.

Steve - numbers wise this is my best. I'd say I'm about 97-98% off my actual best though. I wasn't using power at the time. Pretty damn close though.

Erg mode on zwift is nowhere near as responsive as TR. I hope that's because I'm going from Mac to phone to kickr and back again.

Id like to be able to use this full time so I could cancel TR and afford training peaks.

Slight problem with Zwift and Training Peaks today!

Zwift links straight to TP as well as Strava and automatically downloads your session when you finish. Usually it works fine. Today it decided to download it 15 times!

Whilst Ant + FEC is meant to be standardised there seems to be some variation between different manufacturers. There seems to be less lag on Zwift than TR for me and I've read the same from people with Neos

On winning the Worlds.

She'll give herself a vanilla ice cream with a chocolate in it!

Love the Eurosprt cycling commentary!

I know I have asked before, but do I need to pay for training peaks for a month to see what its capable of ?

I'm going to have a go on the tacx world champs tomorrow, even though I'm off out for a lap of the (old) ironmanUK course in the morning , might not last the course but I think its going to be the biggest mass start ever, which should be fun, and fast.

i think you've got to really want to monitor and plan your training for it to be worth it. But if you do then it has a tonne of analysis tools.

I love the analysis of it. I just can't justify another expense at the moment.

Whether you intend to pay for the premium version of Training Peaks or not it's worth linking it to Garmin/Zwift ... if you don't already. That way when/if you pay for it you already have lots of historical information in it.

I really wanted to have a go tomorrow but I'm trying to make sure I take Sundays off biking and running. It looks like it might be quite interesting, if only to see what that number of people trying to go all at once looks like.

yea, I keep forgetting to check whats on !!

well, I went round the old ironman course this morning , there was a certain amount of not going fast / waiting for the other lads , so it wasn't a paced ride , but still ..... I'm now thinking 200w would be tricky on that course , I clearly go too hard up climbs and not hard enough on flat bits

although my time up sheephouse was encouraging , I don't think I need to go that hard when properly pacing it

also, unlucky cav today , it looks like he just didn't get the better racing line , Doha seems like a pretty s**tty venue though

That was about as interesting as it was ever going to get on that course. I expected MUCH worse.

Gutted for Cav, but fair play to Sagan, back to back World Champs in the modern era is pretty special.

And blasting up hills is fun!

So easy on the hills to completely blow away your power targets even with a power meter. A nice big 32 cassette makes a big difference.

Watching a programme on great climbs. The cyclists are still chatting away fairly comfortably outputting 350 to 400watts. Must be nice to be climb so effortlessly
