right now to avoid flanders till i can download it later

You should just pay the couple of quid a month for eurosport online mate. They have a ridiculous amount of cycling this season and Harmon/Kelly is worth paying for for the Grand Tours. Sky and ITV are dogs**t.

Went out and did 60 odd miles today. The wind was f**king hideous.

Gonna start the log back up again and hopefully stick to it this time.

I've got a taster session at the Velodrome at the weekend. Anyone got any helpful pointers for me? The aim is to not die! Grin

Oh and I'm surprised no one has mentioned SPARTACUS. What a f**king legend taking Sagan to pieces like that.

Easily one of my favourite non GC riders and if it weren't for Boonen people would be talking about Cancellara as one of the greats. They should be anyway.

Amazing ride! to just ride away from Sagan on a short climb is unbelievable and then putting over a kilometre of distance between himself and the rest of the field is incredible Cool

If you would pick anyone to hold a gap solo from 10k it would be him. But to actually do it is something else. And he didnt hold the gap, he spent 10k pulling away!

I thought what was left of the main group would catch him but he just didn't slow down!

I thought that the race was pretty poor, but the finale helped to make up for it. Chinny just battered Sagan. I don't need to know his wattage to know that he was f**king storming. Pulling out that gap at the end was tremendous. It will be an interesting rivalry as they don't particularly like each other, and that always makes for some interesting racing.

OK, wife wanted some 'less nobbly' tyres on her mountain bike....

i went and bought some semi-slick 26 inchers from halfords .... when i got home the wheel fell thru them they were so big .... (the tyres i removed were 26 inchers) so , back i go ......

the halfords dude said (after our conversation about me being wrong) :

26 inch wheels actually come in a couple of different sizes

wat ? this f**ker was just making s**t up wasnt he ?

BTW i used to work at halfords and was a cycle mechanic (a further wat !?)

I know f**k all about MTB wheels I'm afraid mate but the difference in size should be width, nothing else, AFAIK.

Anyone else been glued to the Pais Vasco? Been a real quality race.

I've watched it all. I have loved the Basque tour for years and being friends with a couple of guys from the area, I have a soft spot for Euskatel. There has been some great, cagey racing this year in atrocious conditions. All the people pissing and moaning about how Sky ride seem to have ridiculously romanticised versions of what road racing should be. Heroic 200km breakaways or attacks from 2 cols from the finish are epic, but the world doesn't work like that. I'm not a particular fan of Sky ( I'm not anti, either), but if you have a team who can ride tempo all day and pilot their main GC hope to a few kms from the finish, then that's what you do.

Yeah Sky are much more methodical in their approach which although is less exciting it works, their strength in depth is amazing and I think they'll dominate the grand tours because of that.
