It's today's shiny neologism. It's something I've not done before, it made me very happy, but it doesn't *quite* belong in bold Happy.

Sunday 8/4

Today is the most important day in the Christian calendar, when we remember how our Lord turned into a rabbit and laid eggs. FOR OUR SINS.

Some people celebrate this by going to church, or eating chocolate eggs. I chose instead to celebrate it by squatting like a t**t.

Squat Barbell 60x5x2, 100x5, 120x1, 135x1, 145x3 PB, 145x fail.

Into the hole, sat there for a while. Didn't want to come out. I failed this in my head, I think.

DB press 20x8, 35x5x5.

Bench 60x8, 87.5x10x2.

Partial chins 3x5

Wide seated rows stack x10x2.

I'm trying to look on the bright side; after all, this is the closest thing I've had to a bad workout since Christmas, and it was still a PB on the main lift and targets made easily on everything else. I felt tired before I started, though. I think I'm going to move squats to Monday nights; afternoons blow.

As a couple of people have pointed out, it's important for me to remember that my progress since the end of last year on squats includes getting them about 4" lower - a depth I'm not sure my knees were physically capable of in December. My old "PB" of 160 was several inches high, so anything I'm doing now is a better lift in a very real sense. And I still think I'm going to go well past 160 before I tear it down and start over on a new programme.

I'm solidly under 125 several days in a row, now, too. Which is real progress.

Tuesday 10/4

Jackson deads, week 3.

Deadlifts 60x8, 110x3, 140x1, 170x1, 187.5x2x4.

No problems.

Platform deads 110x2, 140x2, 170x1, 192.5xf. Heart not in it.

Partial chins 3x5

EZ bar extensions +30x8x3

Narrow-grip pulldowns 91x10x2.

My wrist wraps have disappeared. Dammit. I shall have to buy a new set. I hope they'll arrive by Friday, or failing that that somebody will be in with a pair I can borrow for bench...

Sunday 13/4

Coan bench week 9.

Bench 20x8, 60x5, 80x3, 100x1, 110x1, 120x1 (all paused), 125x3x2 PB (first reps paused).

This was *incredibly easy*. I reckon I could have got five on the first set, and probably the second. As Alex and Jo will testify (and spontaneously did), I wasn't skimping on the pauses either Grin.

Close-grip Bench 110x2+f, 110x4 PB.

I lost my line on the first set and missed the last rep, so I did an extra one on the second set. Easy.

Incline Bench 40x5, 105x3x2 PB. These weren't so easy, I couldn't quite groove them right tonight. Alex touched the bar slightly on the very last rep, but didn't help (the first set was the PB anyway).

Partial chins 3x5. Particularly good tonight.

Wide Seated Rows stack+7.5x10x2. I think this is actually a PB.

Aye sorry about that mate, I wouldn't have touched it at all but it did look like there was a chance it could go quite off-course so I didn't want to risk it, it was 105 kilos after all. Having said that it was only the slightest touch, in the end I didn't have to do anything cause you corrected it.

Good lifting!

Good going man. Like you said, you didnt really missed your 145k squat for the good reasons, my take is it could be a walk in the park pretty soon and should worth 150/155kgx1x2 or so by the time you hit a solid 130kg for 5x5 i think.
